We visited Aubergine by Atzaró shortly before the kitchen closed and were initially happy that we were still offered a nice table. Unfortunately, the overall experience became increasingly disappointing. The light at our table was flickering constantly throughout the evening. We were told we only had five minutes to order, yet after waiting around 15 minutes nobody had even come to take our order. We ordered aioli with olives and bread, the aubergine cheese mezze with salad, and sea bass with vegetables. My sauce request was charged separately, which was fine. My wife was advised that the aubergine mezze “would not be enough” and was encouraged to additionally order a baked potato. The food itself was generally good. However, the baked potato we specifically added on recommendation was clearly undercooked inside. We tried to get the attention of the waitress, but she barely checked on us, so the feedback only came when the plates were cleared. She took the half-cut potato to the kitchen, returned, and told us: “It has to be like this.” When the bill arrived, I raised the issue again and asked to speak to the service manager. This was about €8 for a potato, but more importantly about how the situation was handled. Instead of listening professionally, the manager immediately argued that it was our fault because we “should have complained earlier.” He eventually removed it from the bill, but continued defending the dish and the service rather than trying to understand our perspective. I explained calmly how disappointed we were with the service experience that evening, but the discussion became increasingly uncomfortable. He kept insisting the potato was supposed to be that way and repeatedly praised his colleague instead of acknowledging our feedback. Some of the comments felt quite inappropriate and unsettling. As we stood up to leave after paying, he handed me my glasses saying: “This is yours.” The entire interaction felt awkward and unfriendly. The other waitress also never apologized at any point. Overall, while parts of the food were enjoyable, the lack of hospitality and the confrontational way feedback was handled completely ruined the evening for us. Sadly, we will not return.
Aubergine Ibiza has a lovely setting and a nice atmosphere, but overall it felt pretty average. The food was decent, though nothing particularly memorable—I’ve honestly made better salads at home. The menu sounds more exciting than what actually arrives on the table. Service was okay, but a bit too focused on other customers, which made it feel slightly inattentive at times. It wasn’t bad, just not especially warm or engaging. All in all, it’s a pleasant enough place if you’re in the area, but it didn’t quite live up to expectations or stand out in any meaningful way.
This restaurant and square are by far the most romantic and elegant spot among Ibiza’s many dining options. The food is top-class yet surprisingly affordable, with a menu full of finesse. Dining under warm lights and olive trees in true Spanish style creates pure Ibiza charm — serene, authentic, and refreshingly non-touristic. Absolutely outstanding.
This is such a well known spot on the island, but I’ve only just managed to visit. It is a beautiful venue, plenty of sunshine and shade. Feels like a fairytale garden. The details are gorgeous, but something of the atmosphere felt lacking slightly - I suspect that is due to it being towards the end of the season (towards the end of October) and maybe an earlier sitting of 2:30pm. It wasn’t bad at all, just lacked a sort of “buzz” perhaps? The burger was very, very tasty. A really balanced blend of flavours. Way better than I was anticipating if I’m honest. And that apple tart? I don’t even love apple that much! But it was delicious. The salted caramel ice cream in particular was very special. The juice was just ok. Very good, attentive but not intrusive service from all team members encountered. I would go back, especially after 6pm when the BBQ is operational so I can try the beef fillet.
The atmosphere of the restaurant is very nice. There’s no problem with parking. You’re welcomed by a warmly and thoughtfully decorated garden. The staff are very friendly and polite. The food is delicious. In terms of price-performance, it’s very reasonable. But in my opinion, the real praise goes to the salted caramel ice cream — it was incredibly delicious! We had a lovely evening and left satisfied.
