Grounds 5/5: This is a stunning hotel. The art as well from Andres Compagnucci was a pleasant surprise. Staff 5/5: Attentive, professional, gave us a free bottle of champagne and chocolates. Room 1/5: This is the biggest downside of the whole experience. My wife and I didn’t sleep for our 3 day stay. We were “upgraded” to a room that was extremely loud (pipes, hearing other rooms, HVAC). Shower couldn’t maintain hot water. Bed and pillows not comfortable. As we were leaving, an attendant admitted it was a loud room. So much for the upgrade. Food 2/5: Also a disappointment. Breakfast was expensive for a basic buffet. Coffee was water. The Palacio is heralded as the best hotel on Reddit and other socials in Buenos Aires. I don’t believe the price matched the experience. But a truly stunning building.
Duhau Palace is one of the best hotels you can find in Buenos Aires. It’s truly a palace — luxurious, refined, and elegant in every detail. The atmosphere blends history and sophistication in a way that feels both classic and effortless. The cocktails are excellent, and the open terrace is a highlight. It’s the kind of place where you can enjoy a long brunch or a relaxed dinner outdoors and feel fully at ease. I really like this hotel. The only drawback is the noise. It was a bit loud during my stay, possibly because there were several weddings taking place. Maybe it was just timing, but it’s something to keep in mind.
excellent stay here the service was top notch and the place really lives up to its park Hyatt name. i appreciate the had written letters and notes. also the maid service to prepare the room for us to go to sleep was also super thoughtful
This is one of the most beautiful hotels, not only because the structures are grand, well-appointed but the interior decor speaks for the care and sophistication given to the hotel. Some of the artwork even in the basement were incredible. The garden that connects the two building of the hotel is exquisite. We had a suite in the original building. It is very sizable and the windows on two sides opened up to the garden and tree tops. The hardware of the hotel is superb. On service, the reception was excellent as was the butler assigned to suite guests (text line is mostly promptly answered). Food & beverages: We had dinner in the Piano Salon and unfortunately the disappointment was total. It was superbly chaotic with no one in charge, not sure who to ask for a table on the veranda, waited 15 minutes for a pretty much empty restaurant. A number of patrons lost patience and left. The food was also not worth the wait, bland and beef was full of fat and nerve. View was great but not enough to compensate the lacks. Breakfast was good, buffet items were fresh though not as broad a selection as similar hotels. Gym was beautifully-appointed, with French doors and picture windows looking out to a small courtyard with European decor. However the gym could use more space. It was cramped with guests and their trainers taking up a big part of the space. But overall, this is a great hotel in the right neighborhood and definitely one of the top places to stay if you find yourself in Buenos Aires.
BOOKED WITH POINTS: I had a pretty mediocre experience here. Booked with points and a Guest of Honor redemption. The room was the same as a mid level hotel with 0 special amenities. A few things in the room were quirky or didn’t work (lamp, weird bathroom door configuration, etc). They put almost everyone in the modern building which is far less exciting than the palace. Kind of a let down if you don’t realize that ahead of time. The absolutely most inexcusable thing was the wifi. Absolutely atrocious for a luxury hotel to not have wifi that can support a zoom call. I lost 3 business meetings because of it. A $20 Airbnb has better internet. The service was very nice. The breakfast was good, not great. Every day I ordered something it was different (both quality and composition). To be fair though, the view to the gardens and the palace is amazing and really carries the experience. You can tell they reuse juices from the previous day if you get to breakfast early, they taste sour and fermented and are tried to be salvaged with a ton of ice. Again — just seems really misaligned with what this hotel is supposed to be. The only type of milk they have is skim… which is also wild to me. Small things that just do not match “luxury” tag. I stayed with points so it was a fun one to check off the list — and we stayed 7 days so I had a good sample size to pull from for this review. But I can tell you if I was one of the people paying $1800 per night, I would feel extremely short changed.
