I've worked in the hotel industry for 25 years. I can't understand why my reservation was canceled after I'd checked in and paid without any problems. It was without warning after an exhausting day at work, and I hadn't heard anything from the website since the night before. I only found out upon arrival from Paula, the receptionist, without any prior notice or explanation. This has never happened to me before. I don't believe I did anything wrong, and I've always been respectful to everyone. I paid without issue and never had any problems with anyone. I've even hosted barbecues, inviting people and building a sense of community on those days, always respecting the schedule. I was invited to lunch with the receptionists without any problem, and I singled out Vicky and Eduardo. When I asked Agustín, the manager, for an explanation, he initially mentioned a hostel in San Telmo... which wasn't true. This came after a receptionist (who was currently on vacation) complained about me, without specifying what or why. I work in tourism, I'm 55 years old, and I know what the service entails. If the establishment reserves the right of admission, they should explain why if you violated any rules; otherwise, it's discrimination, perhaps against a specific person. If they didn't renew my stay because I checked out late, they should know that I booked for a specific day and was simply waiting for them to reassign me to a room. Which, in any case, seems like a minor issue to me. I have 30 years of experience in the hotel industry and was the manager of a 5-star hotel. After my review on Booking.com, the manager, Federico, very politely contacted me to apologize for the inconvenience and said it was a mistake not to accommodate me. He said he supported his team's decisions, but that he didn't agree with this one. (Yes!) I'm still amazed. So much text for nothing, not even explaining that his team made a mistake and that not only did nothing happen, but they lost a customer. The intuition I mentioned failed me this time, and when mistakes are made (especially when managing a team of 98 people), in addition to apologies, there should be compensation since we provide services. (I'm not asking for a free night or anything like that, just to be able to stay again, without any hassle.) This is outrageous.

Room is okay, smellsna bit like humidity. Bathroom okay, but looks like an old hospital bathroom. Hot shower works. There is a kitchen with a terrace on the rooftop. It was too cold to use the pool but great asset for hot days. The staff (except one lady) was unfriendly. Good value for money due to the location though.

Spend one week here in JuNe 2025. All is okay. Very quite place for sleeping, without noise. The only stressing thing is that kitchen dishes are very poor, there are no good pots and pans made of stainless steel or cast iron. All skillet pots and pans are made of pure aluminum, this is the only thing that torments me. All rooms are very clean, and toilets absolutely clean, and bed sheets and all is white and clean, this is so good thing ))) Lovely place on the roof to make a stretching. I miss a pull-up bar here ))) Maybe they spent much money for putting paper towels everywhere, maybe cheaper is to put electric hand dryer or give towels?))) San Telmo area is nice for walking, and price here in hostel is suitable. Thank you dear staff))) #ionkinberg #cerebrolog
