I had already been to The Rock Restaurant four years ago and the experience was very pleasant, so I really wanted to come back. It is truly something to do when you are traveling in Zanzibar, a real must for any visitor. The concept is original and unique, and the whole experience feels special from the moment you arrive. Once again, everything was perfect. The welcome is very warm and friendly, and the way to access the restaurant depending on the tide, either by foot at low tide or by small boat at high tide, makes the experience even more memorable and atypical. Regarding the food, it is very local and authentic. I usually take the seafood mix, which offers a bit of everything, and it is always very generous and copious. A special mention for the coconut tiramisu, which I had already tried four years ago and loved, and this time again it was absolutely delicious. The setting is magnificent. It is a great idea to arrive a bit early, around 5 or 5:30 pm if you have booked until 6 pm, in order to get a table outside and enjoy the sunset. The view and the atmosphere at that moment are just incredible. This is an experience I highly recommend, both for the quality of the service, the quality of the dishes and the stunning scenery. A unique place that really deserves its reputation.
A wonderful experience where the food matched the location. It looks tiny from the outside but can house quite a few diners. Food pricey but excellent and drinks reasonable. Highly recommended for any trip especially if visiting Jozani Forest. Tide can be in and out during your visit as it was for us.
We went at the rock during our holiday and it was fantastic! The food is incredible tasty and the presentation is amazing. The location is perfect, you see all the sea colors in this relaxing atmosphere! The staff and managers are incredibly nice! There is no place like this anywhere. We are beyond satisfied of our experience and suggest this stop during your holidays.
Very charming place, well-kept and clean. Friendly, knowledgeable staff (they speak many languages), and very coordinated. Lots of choice on the menu, including vegan and vegetarian options. The dishes are beautifully decorated, and each dish tastes different from the others. They also cater to people with allergies and intolerances. The welcome dish was light, simple, and very good. The Italian-style pasta was constructed perfectly, and the sauce was generous, blending well with the various pasta styles (I'm Italian). The lobster was really good, and there's a wide selection of homemade sauces. The wine list isn't extensive, but there are some very good African wines, and every wine is delicious. Hospitality is the key to this place. It should be in the Michelin guide, and why not? Even get a star!! ⭐️ Congratulations Reddy, the best restaurant in Zanzibar and maybe Tanzania.
We went here on our honeymoon and also my husband’s birthday and it was such a lovely experience! The food was lovely, Henry our waiter was great! 10/10 I would definitely recommend for a special dinner!
