Loved the food, really tasteful, good service and sweet staff. Because of the power outage the weren't able to serve everything on the menu so we needed to improvise. Prices are good indeed.

My family and I were recently on vacation in Stone Town and were referred to Lukmaan Restaurant when looking for halaal food. And how lucky were we to have found this place ! They were kind enough to send one of their staff members to fetch us from our hotel located nearby (we had a history of getting very lost, lol). The atmosphere and lighting was a great vibe and I loved that we could see all the food on display at the counters as well as some of the food being made. We chose to sit on the upper level and had a great view of the streets and hustle and bustle below. Stray cats also wandered around, adding to the unique vibe but never once begging for food. Mr Baraka served us and was very welcoming and exhibited great service. The hospitality we observed at this restaurant was unlike any other we have had in our own country of SA. I liked that they had a tap and hand soap close by as well on both the upper and ground floor, erasing the need for hand wipes and serviettes. We also ordered the next day, for delivery, which was also prompt. We would definitely eat here again whenever we return to Zanzibar.

The food here is bad. Poorly seasoned, stale, and just plain doesn't taste good. It wasn't hot, took abnormally long to come, and wasn't presented as it was shown on the menu. Our server also tried way too hard to sell us on the food; that should have been our first red flag. I'll still give them one star (hence the 3 stars for atmosphere) for all the cute cats they have inside. And the juice was tolerable; perhaps they should stop serving food and move to being a cat cafe that serves only juice.

Ask for Farhat she is fabulous welcoming you with a big beautiful smile, she will help you to choose and taste all the necessary local food in small portions. My favorite is spice coffee and spice tea for beverages, they have everything traditional Zanzibari breakfast including katles, kachuri and other specialties also normal and vegetable omelette. Dinner and lunch is always available seafood, chicken and meat. Highly recommended to taste real Swahili dishes in Zanzibar, great service and delicious cuisine. Crowded in the weekends.

The food is good and clean. We came during peak hour and were served pretty fast. Only the portions of fish, especially the Jumbo prawn is not enough (only 1 shrimp - which I think is little for the price) but the rice portions are great The juices are good. I believe they should add ice in them to make them more fresh! The service is good only I would recommend having a bill printed out, cause counting with a calculator can lead to mistakes both from the clients & the management. Would come back! :) (they have free wifi)
