I arrived without a reservation, and didn’t think I’d need one given that every other restaurant I’d visited had been very quiet. Da Luigi’s was almost full, mostly with a large group of about 40 people. I was offered a table in the inner dining area but it was very hot. I asked if I could sit in the (covered) outside area and was sat at a table that had a reserved sign and advised I would have to vacate it, but that I would have enough time to eat without rushing. The staff brought a basket of bread sticks and bread, with some hummus type dip, together with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. This was a lovely start to the meal. I ordered lasagne and a green salad. I asked that it was thoroughly heated because it often arrives lukewarm in the centre. It was served hot, hot, hot and was very good. The salad was large, and delicious. I discovered that the restaurant was popular because they offered a buy one get one free pizza on Wednesdays. The pizzas looked very good, so although I had eaten I ordered a couple to take back to the excellent staff at the Serena hotel where I was staying. They reported that they were delicious 😋 I’d recommend a visit!

I had a wonderful experience. I ordered a pizza and a cappuccino, and both were excellent, the pizza was flavorful with a perfectly crisp crust, and the cappuccino was smooth and beautifully made. The staff were very attentive and welcoming, which made the meal even more enjoyable. It’s a great spot if you’re looking for delicious food and warm hospitality in Zanzibar. Highly recommended!

I really enjoyed my meal at Da Luigi Ristorante! The food was good—solid Italian cooking, very tasty. But the best part was the atmosphere. It was fantastic! The vibe was lively, warm, and just perfect. It was seriously giving! Go here for great food and a wonderful, lively time. Highly recommend!
