It was a lot of history to absorb in a short period of time. Our guided tour was worth the money and was the most efficient way to visit the Capitol. Brooke, our guide from "I Walk DC" was very informed and kept all 9 of us moving forward. A group of 7 visiting from the Netherlands, a lady from Milwaukee, WI and me from CA. Weagreed the tour was extremely impactful, including the visit to the Library of Congress.

To be at the place the symbolizes America's voice is hard to describe. It's a breathtaking place, you will admire it's beauty inside and out, star-struck. While visiting, frustrations about those who govern may arise, but that should only remind us that our voices are more important than we think. For those able to visit, it is worth the trip at least more than once in your life.

So the Capitol will not let you bring in ANY snacks, food, drinks, basically nothing. So if you don't need it, keep it out. Other than that there is a lot of history to learn and the are a ton of statues all over. So cool.

Came to congress in February 2026. Great time visiting, wonderful tour by Alison for our school group. Swift security and easy coat check. Viewing gallery pass system is a bit clunky (need to get separate gallery cards for each chamber) though I imagine that is for good reason. Recommend cafeteria/ restaurant too.

We had an excellent guided tour with an incredibly knowledgeable older gentleman as our guide. My mind draws blank on his name, but we all learned so much from what he shared and he seems to love his job.
