From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. We were greeted with fresh waters at check-in, received a wonderful room upgrade, and had every special request accommodated without hesitation. We booked through Amex Fine Hotels + Resorts and took full advantage of the perks, but honestly the property stands on its own. The staff across the board was outstanding, from the bellmen and front desk team to every host and hostess we encountered throughout our stay. Having lived in DC for years, we know this city well, and The Jefferson remains one of its finest addresses. The location is ideal, and the hotel strikes that rare balance of full-service luxury with a boutique intimacy you rarely find. It feels like a grand hotel without ever feeling impersonal. We will absolutely be back.
Our favorite hotel in DC. Rooms are beautiful and provide all the comforts you need. Service is exceptional. Location is great. Highly recommend for a romantic weekend with your partner. The restaurant, bar, and morning coffee in the library are added bonuses to a perfect hotel experience. Highly recommend!
The Jefferson is exceptional for the superb service offered by its impeccable staff. Kudos to the doormen, bell staff and reception staff, whose solicitous and attentive welcome set the tone for an unforgettable visit. Our thanks to everyone who took care of us, including Shannon and Ryan. Our room was well-sized and comfortable, with an expansive bathroom and luxurious linens. The Jefferson is ideally located. Walk on fine days. If you choose to take cabs/Uber/Lyft, you will be a 5-10 minute drive from the best that Washington has to offer, including the White House, the Capitol, Georgetown, the Smithsonian museums, the Kennedy Center and excellent restaurants. Back at the Jefferson, the Greenhouse Restaurant serves a delicious brunch on weekends (try the cast iron baked eggs!) and has memorable breakfasts on weekdays. Service is excellent. The Quill Bar is an excellent option for an intimate nightcap, again accompanied by outstanding service. Don’t overlook the property’s historic details. Documents signed by Thomas Jefferson — including a salary cheque for his coachman — are mounted near the reception area. The Book Room recreates a colonial era library and is a delightful place to lounge. Books authored and signed by the Jefferson’s guests are included in the collection. The hotel’s historian is available in the Book Room on Saturday mornings to answer questions and show points of interest.
My daughter’s wedding reception was held in the Greenhouse Room at The Jefferson, and I could not be more pleased with the delicious food and impeccable service! In addition, the venue itself is beautiful, historic, and extraordinarily well maintained. The Events Manager, Chris, is a pleasure to work with and went above and beyond in providing my daughter with creative ideas and support that turned her wedding dreams into reality. I cannot thank Chris, and the entire staff at The Jefferson enough for making our wedding reception there such a memorable, perfect occasion!
Absolute 5 star experience, service was impeccable, they always knew what we needed before we needed it. Understated and kind staff trying to make every moment memorable. If you are thinking about coming here- just do- you will have the time of your life! Or maybe dont I enjoyed how un-crowded it was. The excellent service made our stay so relaxing. Food was also amazing.
