An Evening of Culture and Community On February 28th, I had the pleasure of attending my first evening social as a museum member. It was a truly worthwhile experience. The atmosphere was set by a fantastic live band, and the catering was both delicious and satisfying. With a thoughtful selection of music and food, there was truly something for everyone to enjoy. Beyond the social, guests had full access to the museum’s powerful exhibits. A particular highlight was the stunning orchid display on the second floor—a beautiful, serene touch to the evening. If you haven't already, I highly recommend becoming a member today to join this vibrant community!

Visiting the National Museum of African American History and Culture was an incredible experience. From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the powerful stories, rich history, and thoughtful exhibits that highlight the resilience, achievements, and contributions of African Americans throughout history. I highly recommend allowing plenty of time for your visit because there is so much to see and absorb. The historical galleries are moving and educational, while the cultural exhibits celebrate the creativity, excellence, and influence of African Americans in every aspect of society. The museum is beautifully designed, well organized, and the staff were friendly and helpful. This is more than a museum—it's an experience that educates, inspires, and leaves a lasting impression. Whether you're visiting Washington, D.C. for the first time or have been many times before, this museum is a must-see.

Beautiful museum but a very emotional experience. The food was amazing highly recommend the mac and cheese and collard greens were very sweet needed a little more heat. The fried chicken was delicious one bit took me back time being a little girl eating Sunday dinner at my aunts house in Brooklyn. Even the food had me emotional with fond memories of my great grandmother and great great grand. Highly recommended for children over 14 some of the exhibits are very powerful. Wonderful rainy Saturday in Washington DC

Come visit the free museum about African American History and Culture. I recommend that you go online and schedule your free visit in advance. When I went we were able to scan the QR code and enter immediately. It's a very humbling experience. It's so difficult to see the how our African American brothers and sisters were treated and the segregation they endured. However, it was so beautiful to see how they rose above and conquered the issue! I loved visiting every floor! Especially the floor with all the amazing music!! This was my favorite quote that I read George C. Wolfe quote: "God created Black people, and Black people created style." The interactive room where you could chose the music to listen to brought back so many memories! Please visit & enjoy!! You might ever see the famous "mothership!"

Absolutely wonderful. I am a chater member of the National Museum of Afican American History and Culture so I have been looking forward to visiting for a while. I am originally from Tulsa, OK and I was delighted to see my high school, my neighborhood, and people I knew regarding the Tulsa Race Massacre of 1921. I visited the bottom 3 levels as well as the next 2 levels above since I only had 4 hours, but you have to spend a minimun of 10 hours to see everything in my opinion. Plan on at least 2 full days to visit. I was able to get a free ticket right before I walked in. Start at the very bottom and work your way to the top of the museum. I was lucky enough to eat at the cafe and enjoyed the fried chicken and mac n cheese. Please take your family and spend all day at least visiting this wonderful museum. The most touching part was seeing Emmitt Till's casket.
