Loved the food! 10/10, not only is it literally the place that fed the civil rights movement, it has the best soul food I’ve ever had. Feels like mom cooking for you! Our waiter Julio was very respectful and even gave us free pancakes!! Would come back again!!
Stopped by here for breakfast yesterday at about 9:20. No line, and just one other party in the restaurant at the famous MLK booth where the March on Washington was planned. There were two people working, and keeping quite busy. I waited about five minutes to order at the register. I didn’t wait long for the coffee and food to arrive though, maybe ten minutes? The food was all very good. Biscuits are made fresh in house. However with tip I was just over $20, which seemed a bit steep. I was mostly coming to say I’d been there, so guess that works out. Once done my place was cleared quickly, too. Free refills were also offered on the coffee. I’d recommend this place, and would definitely consider coming back when in the area!
Absolutely wonderful place. The food was excellent, prices surprisingly cheap for the quality and quantity of food. Everything was well cooked and seasoned. I normally dont order home fries because at most places they are a soggy bland mess, but here they were absolutely delicious. I got the fried pork chops and they were delicious. Wholly recommend this place.
World famous at not having ranch dressing for the wings. that shows how bad they are when it comes to ordering and they have a horrible manager. If you run out of ranch The manager should’ve picked some up for the morning shift. There’s no excuse when you run out of things and it’s in between deliveries, you just have to go to restaurant Depot or the grocery store and pick up what you need but these people don’t give a damn about the service or the restaurant.
Went in and was greeted by a beautiful sister and to top it off, her hospitality was great. Everyone was very kind and happy to serve me and the other customers inside. The food? 10/10, fried catfish, collard greens, macaroni and cheese and a store brewed batch of sweet tea. Amazing, please support them
