we had a wonderful evening at Fiola. we ordered the hawaiian crudo and half dozen oysters for the starter. and ordered the whole branzino for our main course. the food was really good. the starters were wonderful but the branzino flesh was not as flaky as you might expect if it were fresh. it tasted good. it could use improvement where the skin could be crispy and the flesh more flaky. our waitress was awesome and very friendly. she had some great recommendations and was very attentive
This is truly a five star restaurant. Walking through the door, you are met with the class expected from the crew on a high end cruise ship. Professionalism defines the vibe of our server, Prady. He delineated each menu item requested and made suggestions for the both of us based on our reactions. Conversation was cordial, welcoming, and friendly. I felt like I could keep talking with him as a friend. He made some good suggestions as to our next adventure in the area as well. The food was spectacular; decadent. Every bite was anticipated and full of flavor. The flavors mixed well, and the three course brunch was complimented by a cocktail for me (a mocktail for my pregnant wife). There was a lady who was responsible for filling waters and she did a great job, too! I would give 6/5 stars if it were possible.
Five star especially the service! I came here for an upscale dining experience while in DC for business and I was not disappointed. I was a party of one but they still made me feel like a special guest. I had so many people serving me and they were all superb. They generously gave me a special fish appetizer while I waited for my pasta because my entrée was going to take a while. It was like sashimi and was delicious. The spaghetti I got was the only slight disappointment. Great flavor but a little light on the protein. Still very delicious. I had their "kisses" dessert and it was incredible but very rich. Make sure you talk to Gary the sommelier who is a very fun person to talk to and a true wine enthusiast. I was so impressed with the wine offerings at this restaurant! I would definitely dine here again.
I was there when they were offering their special lobster ravioli. And for dessert, I had an affogato. The chef also threw in a little treat beforehand. By far, the best Italian restaurant in DC. If Obama had to become president to come here, I didn’t.
Absolutely loved the food and the overall experience. We came here for a quick Friday afternoon lunch, and it turned out to be such a pleasant surprise. It was a beautiful afternoon, and sitting by the window with a water view made it even better. Our server was very knowledgeable, offered great recommendations, and truly took care of us throughout the meal. The food was outstanding. After a long time, we finally had truly exceptional Italian cuisine. The bread service featured two large laminated breads with pea flower topping and chickpea butter. A must try. We also ordered the eggplant appetizer, and honestly, it was one of the best dishes we have ever had. It was executed perfectly, with a beautiful balance of flavors where nothing overpowered the other, just a true dance of flavors. We ordered the vegetarian pasta with wild mushrooms, which was another highlight. It was incredibly well done and an absolute flavor bomb. For dessert, we had the Bombalini, their signature dish. They kindly accommodated us with a non gelatin version, and it was fantastic. We also tried the potatoes, which were delicious. We ended the meal with a cappuccino, and you can never go wrong with Illy. Overall, an unforgettable dining experience, and we will definitely be back.
