Incredible details. Free entry for the main hall, gotta queue to get in, about 5-10mins wait. The other areas require ticket, CASH ONLY so bring more cash with you. The only thing you could pay digitally is donation to the cathedral, the AUDACITY, but okay. Cute souvenirs, no photography allowed in the shop tho.

This provides access to several key areas, including the Dom Museum Wien, the catacombs, the worship area of the cathedral, and both the North and South Towers for panoramic views of the city. The catacombs can only be visited as part of a guided tour. At the scheduled time, a staff member will gather visitors and lead the group underground, where you can see the coffins of priests and the remains of those buried beneath the cathedral. Photography is strictly prohibited in this area, which adds to the solemn and respectful atmosphere of the experience. The towers offer two very different experiences. The South Tower is physically demanding, as it requires climbing a long and narrow staircase. However, the effort is rewarded with impressive views of Vienna’s skyline. In contrast, the North Tower is accessible by lift and leads to an outdoor viewing platform, making it a more relaxed option for enjoying the city views. One important point to note is the strict timing for entry into the worship area of the cathedral. We missed our slot by just ten minutes and were not allowed to enter, so it is essential to check the schedule carefully and plan your visit accordingly. With proper planning, St Stephen’s Cathedral offers a rich and memorable experience that combines history, architecture, and breathtaking views.
