Having been to several 3* restaurants, I can say Amador deserves a 5 star rating as it ticked all the boxes...for the most part. The amuse bouches at the start were truly exceptional, especially the one with the restaurant insignia and the other with grapefruit. The rest of the evening was rather fleeting with some flavours flat while others astounding. The only dishes that stood out were the Mains - Toothfish and Morel mushrooms with scallops; it was probably my first time trying morels and can say with certainty it's one of the best tasting vegetarian proteins I've had. The dessert, though presented and plated remarkably, left much to desire. The chocolate flavours were sublime yet starkly eclipsed by acute tartiness by some exotic pear fruit, this was bit of a let down. The final sweet treats were nice but none were memorable. Despite multiple flaws, I'd still recommend this place for anyone wanting a Michelin experience while in Vienna since palates vary from person to person.
The food is exceptional , the service is perfect, you can expect a one life experience , and we’ve seen and experienced a lot of 2 or 3 stars restaurants but none have delivered like Amador . Thank you for having us as your guests
We knew we were in a special place as soon as we walked in. As you walk in the front door, peer to the right a few meters up and there sits the long kitchen. Don't worry, you'll get another chance to walk by it on the way to the wc. You walk down beside it, and it is spotless. The dining environment is spotless with not a crumb in sight. the large tables a far enough away from one another that you can't hear the others. In the dining area, you feel as though you are transported to a different place. The curved cavern inside with the round tables gives way to the relaxing evening you are about to have. Attention to detail and dishes and wine pairings are elevated to meet the 3 Michelin. The wine parings are a generous pour too. All the dishes were incredible. It's difficult picking out a favorite, however, one desert sticks out that was composed of strawberries and it had a few small "gummy bears" that were made out of strawberries in the shape of "gummy bears"....incredible talents with the team at Amador. Thank you for a memorable experience...
My husband and I ate at Amador back in March and had the best time. The food and atmosphere were incredible, but the staff took it to a new level. We had so much fun with our Somm who let us experience his thoughts with wine pairings. Once he realized we liked to dabble in wines he brought us a few to try with our menu to bring out different flavors. It was so cool to taste how different wines would enhance or complement a flavor, and to see how he thought about making the best experience for the guests. Thank you so much for such an amazing experience. It still makes us smile months later ☺️. Looking forward to coming again the next time we are in Vienna!
What Amador lacks in vibes and fancy decor, it makes up for in mindblowing food. Loved all the nods to viennese cuisine despite being a spanish restaurant. The lego brick dessert is a work of art. By far our favorite fine dining restaurant in Vienna. It's a little out of the way, but absolutely worth the detour!
