Review of the hotel - firstly you can't find Pensione wildner on Google. If you find, it will come with a street in campa Salvador and that street has no hotel. That's where we ended up. If you search for wildner only(which we didn't, it only shows a restaurant). The hotel is dated however clean so can't fault that. The AC or heater in the room doesn't work, it works as a fan only which was terrible. We were in room 28 There is no lift in the hotel, wasn't an issue for us as we're only 2 floors up but I am sure it would be a concern for some. The location is excellent as it's right opposite the water taxi so easy for someone coming on the boat from the railway station or airport. City tax is only taken in cash and it's 7 Euros per night (perfectly fine as we had cash but be prepared in case you travel with card only) The worse part of the hotel was the restaurant. No smile from the person, it felt like a fast food place, they come and throw food on the table, Ask no questions. They apparently offer cappuccino but it was coffee with water (perhaps it was from a machine and not barista made). All you get for 2 X people is 2 X small buns and 2 plain croissant loaded with a load of sugar on the top and a boiled egg each. No option for scrambled egg or ask for anything that's freshly made. Canned fruits were provided in Day 1 and 3 - day 2 we were told no fruits. It's at the waterfront but majority of the rooms aren't waterfront. Correct location on Google maps, Working AC, quality breakfast and friendly service would have made it a 4-5 star review. The curtains in the room only close about 30% so if you are tiny bit sensitive to light then you would hate being woken up between 5-7am each day on your holiday - this was the worst part
This family owned business is exceptional. Perfect location, terrific service, friendly and accommodating, rooms clean and comfortable, breakfast was very nice and the service on the restaurant was wonderful. Everyone is personable and approachable. True delight! Gladly stay here again. This was a 4 night stay, two rooms, two couples.
We were very disappointed with our stay. The room had fabric-lined walls all around, even the bathroom door, which seemed to trap moisture and odors and created a strong, musty smell of rancid oil. We had to leave the doors open overnight, which let mosquitoes in because there were no fly screens, making for a very uncomfortable night. We dreaded returning to the room. Breakfast set was equally underwhelming. The bread seemed stale, the fruit poorly prepared, and the presentation, including finger-marked cheese, was unappealing. The coffee tasted like instant. It is not worth the price.
Terrible place, staff rude & aggressive Tried to charge us for 2 waters when we only asked for one then when we asked for the one water to be taken off the bill the tall waiter with glasses snatched it from our hand then threw it back at us. Over priced, commercial food. Staff we nice until they had our food orders, never had such rude staff. Worst place we have ever eaten in Venice
Worst experience ever, the oil where they make the food it's old and taste and smell dreadfull. I was puking all the night. Run from this restaurant. Even more, they charge us 170 Euro for 3 people with such bad quality, asking for a tip was just a joke.
