We booked two Luxuary canal view rooms for 10 nights in early May. From the moment we arrived Gian the owner and his team made us feel very welcome. The hotel is small, beautifully appointed and in a quiet part of St Marco. Easy walking distance to the major attractions and nearest water transport stop on the Grand Canal. Every morning we were greeted by Gian and offered a delectable range of tasty delights for breakfast. He uses the finest ingredients and the menu changed every day. The staff are genuinely friendly and helpful and the hotel reception is manned 24 hours a day. This was our home away from home.
Venice was the first stop on our two-week Italian vacation, but despite an exciting intinerary that includled stops in Florence, Sorrento and Rome to look forward to, it wa sad leaving after only two days because of our experience at Corte di Gabriela. Everything about the hotel was first class. Our ground floor room was a work of art thanks to the beautiful frescoes on the ceiling and it was filled with plenty of high-end amenities. The location was perfect, on a quiet canal just a short walk from the Sant'Angelo Vaporetto stop and close to St. Mark's Square and all the other important attractions. And the breakfast that was included as part of our stay was the best I have ever seen at a hotel. Not only was there an incredible spread of fruits, pastries, cheese and cold cuts, but upon being seated our table was quickly filled with other delacies including warm mini pizzas, smoked salmon and stewed tomatoes. After all that, the attendant then asked how we would like our eggs cooked by the chef who was manning the kitchen. It was all incredibly delicious! Beyond the physical attributes, the other thing that sets this property apart is the staff. Everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful, including a wonderful front desk manager, Gabriella, who provided us with directions, Vaporetto schedules and restaurant recommendations every time we asked. It's a shame we can only give Corte di Gabriella five stars, because it deserves at least twice that many!
I searched high and low for the perfect place to stay in Venice for our honeymoon, and I am thrilled we found Corte di Gabriela. I honestly can't imagine a better spot anywhere in Venice! :D In fact, this may have been the best accommodation we stayed at during our entire two-week trip. It’s located in a quiet neighborhood, just a stone’s throw from the Sant’ Angelo water taxi stop. The location is perfect—you can easily walk to the most popular areas in Venice while being far enough removed from the tourist crowds to feel like a true retreat. Where do I even start with Gian Luca’s food? The breakfast we had may have been the best meal I had in all of Italy. There, I said it. Gian Luca is incredibly kind and creates the most remarkable dishes, which change daily. His son was also there to help us check in, which was absolutely adorable. The woman at the front desk was exceptional, and everyone we asked for dinner recommendations gave us spot-on advice. Lastly, the room itself was stunning—from the canal right outside our window to the in-room sauna. SO LUXURIOUS. If any of this sounds appealing, you must stay here—10/10!
An impeccable place to stay in the heart of Venice San Marco section. A beautiful easy walk to everywhere we wanted to visit and because it is on a street away from the tourist centers it felt very special and quiet. A short walk in every direction took us on a few side streets to explore before arriving at our destination. The hotel is gorgeous inside and artistic. The view from our suite was a charming canal view on one side and street/garden view on the other. The staff is incredible, especially the classy owner manager who greeted us every morning and answered every question with perfection. The communication leading up to our arrival was excellent. The details and care are very personal as there are just 10 suites. The artisanal breakfast was probably the most delicious and well presented I have had in my 45 years of travel. The chef is a mix of artist, mad scientist (I could see him doing his magic in the kitchen) and charm.
We had a wonderful 3 night stay in October. The hotel is in a prime location in San Angelo yet off the beaten path so very quiet. Our room was well appointed but what makes Corte di Gabriela standout is the people. Everyone was friendly, professional and responsive to all our needs and wants. The service was very personable. The attention to detail of everyone there really stood out. I highly recommend you stay at Corte di Gabriela the next time you visit Venice.
