The Douglas is not for the business traveller. Only reason the hotel gets 3 is because of the staff and location. If you are staying for business, this is not your hotel. Lower floor rooms facing BC place are above the Casino Lounge/Patio and you hear everything - even though that staff tried to assist. For a 6:30 am checkout, if you need to go to the front desk you have to walk to the JW side. Bathroom lacks a hand shower and sufficient towel racks, and the thermostat works but is frustratingly locked. No Fridge in the room and that desk chair is awful and hard to get comfortably to work. I can be nit picky when you pay these prices. The positives. The staff are excellent. I am sure I missed a few but Ricky & Andres were very helpful and responsive. The room as quirky as it is is comfortable except there is no place to really unwind, There is no couch but a nice window bench
What an Awesome two nights stay! We stayed in room # 1256 and everything was just fantastic. Room was super neat and clean. Area was extra quiet throughout the night. City view was very lovely. Air conditioning was nice and chill without auto turning off. TV has YouTube, Netflix, etc. - basically a Smart TV. Beds were comfy. Pillows were definitely on the firmer side. For the shower - very clean. However, for the water pressure I wish it was stronger. But the provided Aesop body wash and shampoo were amazing! Love them! Parking within the underground garage had ample spaces and availabilities. It was easy in and out! I felt my car was secure the entire time. However, just don't be surprised by the $55 CAD self park nightly fee. Now for the service - every staff member was incredibly kind and respectful. Shout out to the Excellent Concierge team for being so accommodating with our requests and for making my mother's birthday occasion exceptionally memorable! Thank You, Sharon - from Concierge Team - you're an Absolute Gem for sending my mother a beautiful and delicious cake!
Stayed at The Douglas in Vancouver and it absolutely delivered. The hotel strikes that rare balance. Modern, well designed, but still warm and comfortable. Rooms are finished properly, everything feels intentional, and the overall vibe is elevated without trying too hard. What really stood out though was the service. Hank at the front desk took care of me on arrival and went above and beyond, upgrading me to an exceptional suite that completely changed the stay. Not expected, but definitely appreciated. That kind of service is what separates good hotels from great ones. Would stay again without hesitation.
This was the best experience I have ever had at a hotel. I travel a ton and it was stellar and excellent. Every. Single. Person I interacted with was professional, courteous, customer focused, kind and competent. The room was also the cleanest I’ve ever been in. Even the soap made a positive impression on me! I tried to keep track of all the people that made my stay and I just couldn’t keep track of them all. This must be an amazing culture and management practice since the great service was endemic. Cannot recommend highly enough. Thanks to Andres, Eva G, Carl, Marvin, Eiscreme and so many more staff members.
I stayed at The DOUGLAS, Autograph Collection Hotel in Vancouver in early May for five days during a work event and had a great experience. The hotel quality and service were excellent. My room was clean, spacious, and quiet—perfect for resting and also for attending virtual meetings. The internet was fast and stable, and housekeeping kept everything well stocked. I had no issues at all and would definitely stay there again.
