Really funky hotel. Creative, vibrant interior design. The staff were amazing and always in an uplifting mood. Although the rooms were a bit small and kind of dark, the showers and bath products were 10/10. The beds are comfortable, the rooms are clean, and the pillows aren't obnoxiously large like other hotels. I will say that because the hotel is older, the sound proofing is non existent. Granville street gets extremely lively on the weekends and made it near impossible to sleep, even with earplugs. The Nespresso machine in the room was a nice touch, and much appreciated. The breakfast is comprehensive, but there isn't a lot of incentive to eat there over somewhere else due to the high price. We stayed in a Deluxe Queen room and after taxes it came out to roughly $200/night. I unfortunately don't think it's worth that price. I do appreciate the effort to make a nice environment, but you are paying a lot more to stay in a trendy hotel. If you are at all sensitive to smell, the reception area is really difficult to be in. We thought it was so jarring to walk into a heavily perfumed area, to the point where you could smell it coming from the front door while standing outside. At first we thought it was someone with really bad cologne who had walked through the reception, but the smell was there day after day. Thankfully the rest of the hotel wasn't an issue on that front. We wouldn't stay there again, but if my mentioned downsides don't bother you, I'd say give it a go.
About a month and a half ago, I started a trip to several destinations, and now that I’m finally back home, I wanted to share my experiences and write reviews of the places I stayed. The first stop of my journey was Vancouver, where I stayed at Hotel Belmont, and it was a great start to the trip. The hotel was very clean, with an excellent location and easy access to everything. What really stood out to me, though, was the staff. Everyone was incredibly kind and polite, constantly checking to make sure everything was okay. The front desk team, in particular, was extremely attentive and clearly cared a lot about service quality. The highlight of my stay happened on our last day, just as we were getting ready to leave for the airport. We realized that one of our suitcase wheels was broken, which made it very difficult to carry. Since our flight was close, we didn’t have time to buy a new suitcase. While we were checking out, a maintenance staff member noticed the issue, and with genuine kindness, he fixed the wheel for us. Amazingly, that wheel worked perfectly for the rest of our trip. It turned into a very memorable and heartwarming moment for me and truly reflected the hotel’s hospitality. I would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone planning to stay in Vancouver.
The location is a short walk to Granville or Yaletown stations. The area itself doesn't look fantastic but we had no issues. There is a band in the pub below Friday and Saturday nights. Well appointed rooms, staff are all lovely and very helpful. We enjoyed our 2 nights there.
We had a great stay at the Belmont. The top floor had a great city view which was quiet especially at night. Housekeeping was very thorough and attentive. The one bedroom suite is also very aesthetic and comfortable, and the hotel had a distinct pleasant scent. Breakfast was consistent - while limited, it was great as we had fruits and healthy selection. Most importantly, the location was nearby many food choices (that were open until late) and walking distance to shopping areas and some tourist locations. Greatly appreciated the help from the team, from Sangay & Takaaki who helped fix the admin side of things before we arrived, and of course Hitesh who checked us in and helped sort out a problem we had right before check-out. Will definitely be staying here again.
Once inside you'll be mezmorized by the funky clock behind the check in desk, staffed by sincere and kind people. They'll carry your bags up the entry way steps, guide you through checkin and help set you up with parking in the lot next door. Once in your room, you'll enjoy the clean and trendy decor, the fun vibe and the comfy bedding and pillows (they'll be a few surprises too). Nespresso coffee pods and tea available, and easily restocked if you just ask. Sink, shower area and closets all clean and perfect for a couple nights stay. Safe in bed pedestal drawer. Belmont Hotel isn't opulent, if you're looking for that, book elsewhere. If you like Indigo type hotels, this one is for you. Give it a try.
