My family went to Fanny Bay Oyster for Happy Hour. This was on our to-go list for a long time so it was a blessing to finally visit Fanny Bay Oyster Bar. We sampled a number of items on the Happy Hour menu including the Truffle Fries, the Clams and Mussels, the Grilled Sablefish Collars, and of course the raw Oysters (both regular and premium). Every dish was spectacular and tasty. Even the non-alcoholic Bellini and Caesar drinks were nicely prepared. The venue was comfortable. The server was very attentive. We would definitely come back again for another visit.

If you are looking for the best seafood in Vancouver, Fanny Bay Oyster Bar & Shellfish Market is an absolute must-visit! This place offers incredibly fresh and delicious oysters and seafood in a wonderful, casual atmosphere. Eating raw oysters can sometimes make people feel a bit cautious, but everything here is so remarkably fresh that you can enjoy them with complete peace of mind. The staff members are incredibly friendly, attentive, and welcoming, making the overall dining experience comfortable and pleasant. Toasting with a delicious local beer alongside their amazing platters guaranteed a fantastic time. I also loved the vibrant interior; the live shellfish tanks and the beautiful seafood displays are so fun to look at and add to the excitement. The vibe of the restaurant is top-notch. I highly recommend this spot to both locals and travelers looking for great food and amazing hospitality!

We arrived at around 3 pm and got seated immediately. They have a happy hour from 2pm - 6pm with Oysters for 2$ / 2.75$ and other dishes. Jomar, also nicknamed as Giorgio, was our waiter and his service was incredible! Very friendly, helpful and always attentive! We ordered - Happy Hour Oysters (that day: Fanny Bay, SunSeeker and Totten Virginia) - Snapper Ceviche - Truffle fries Everything was fresh and super delicious, we would definitely come again! And thanks again Jomar for your great service!

Daily oyster select was a good selection. The fried rice was really good! Loved the texture added by the crunchy rice bits and the sweet note from the sauce. West Coast chowder was so flavourful, really tasty. Would not recommend the kelp salad. Not sure what the aim was, no acidity and not much flavour. Would have been nice if pickled as a pallet cleanser.

I want to write a disclaimer - Fanny Bay is the best spot for fresh oysters and a great happy hour! That has not changed in the 4 years I've been coming here. I will continue coming for my happy hour oysters and drinks forever. The issue I have is with the prepared food. With the chef changeover, I noticed a major change in quality and taste. I've been ignoring it as best as I can and ordering the oysters and calamari - two safe options. I decided to join for Dine Out this year and the enchiladas fell completely flat. Zero flavour and the presentation was something even I could do better at at home, I was shocked. The server was amazing and gracious and replaced it with the crab cakes, which were too salty and didn't come with the veg my friend had on her plate. I HATE even leaving this review. I love the service, the people and all the memories I've had here - I've brought my friends, clients and family here from all over the world here for years but this last experience has really disappointed me. I will still be returning for the amazing happy hour oysters and service but will be skipping the food from here on out. :(
