This jewel box of a wine bar is a do not miss for anyone who loves wine, food and great vibes. It’s beneath street level (by a few steps) and you feel like you are in a historic, cozy space - with great wines, inventive and well-prepared food and fantastic service. Great selection of Maltese wines + international wines. Staff knows wine and are excited about sharing as much (or as little) knowledge as you want. Lived the Maltese sparkling Girgentina with fresh steamed asparagus in celouté and the fried calamari’s was perfectly tender and not greasy. GO!

I was very well looked after by Trabuxu wine bar tonight. I didn’t even have to look at the menu and I was given exactly what I wanted. They were very attentive to my needs and the wine and produce was excellent. The chutney in particular was a very tasty accompaniment to my Goats Brie and meat. I’d thoroughly recommend this place which is situated at the top of this charming and ambient street. A lovely way to spend an evening in Valetta.

I went here at about 10pm on a Friday evening. There was a lovely buzz. All the tables, bar one, were full with people sharing plates a simple food, drinking wine, chatting and appeared to be having a lovely time. As a solo female, I was lucky to get the last available table, and the staff could not have been nicer. I chose a glass of local red wine (which was delicious and generously poured) and a plate of coppa which came with a variety of bread and crackers. The music was at a good level, so you could talk and think without shouting, and was much more imaginatively curated than the '80s soundtrack blaring out of most establishments in Valletta. I would return in a heartbeat.

The best place in Malta for meats, cheese and wine. Its very small soo book ahead. You might be lucky and get a tablecat the bar as a walk in.

The wine and the cheese were heavenly. Great service and recommendations. They were fast and knew everything about the food and drinks. We’ll definitely come again and recommend this place! It’s good to know they mostly serve wine and only be the bottle though. And you have to be quick to get a table at nighttime.
