Stunning location. Worth the price imo. Service excellent, cleanliness and quality of food and drink also excellent. Really close to Valletta entrance and is a mini sanctuary from the business of the city. Great break for a few days. Spa is well worth a visit too.

Last week, I visited The Phoenicia Malta after receiving a Valentine’s gift ticket for a candlelight concert held at the hotel. While waiting for the performance to begin, we spent some time in the lounge — and it immediately left a strong impression on me. Before entering the concert hall, we enjoyed drinks at the bar, where a professional bartender was serving guests. After the performance, instead of returning directly to our hotel in St. Julian’s, we decided to stay a bit longer and enjoy the lobby atmosphere. That turned out to be an excellent decision. The lobby gives an immediate feeling of luxury. It is spacious, elegant, and beautifully designed. I particularly loved the high ceilings, the architectural details, and the refined overall ambiance. There was live music during our visit — piano and violin — which elevated the atmosphere even further and created a truly sophisticated setting. We ordered coffee and espresso, and the service was impeccable. The waiters were professional, attentive, and polished in their manner. Guests can also choose from a selection of cakes, tarts, and macarons, which can be enjoyed comfortably on one of the many sofas arranged throughout the lounge area. The space is decorated with beautiful paintings and elegant furnishings, and simply sitting there already feels like stepping into a world of classic luxury. It is not just a hotel lobby; it is an experience in itself. Overall, even though I was not staying at The Phoenicia Malta, the time spent in its lounge was memorable. It is a wonderful place to relax, enjoy live music, and experience refined hospitality in Malta.

This place makes an impression from the very first moment. Beautiful interiors, perfectly refined details, and an atmosphere of luxury at its very best - never excessive, but guided by an exceptional sense of quality. Everything operates at the highest standard, and the level of service and organisation clearly shows that every detail truly matters here. The hotel is elegant, polished, and run with genuine class. It is definitely one of those places that stays in your memory for a long time.

If you have the money to splash out for a special occasion (or if you’re just plain rich), there is no place like this in Malta. Every aspect of the hotel is straight out of the top drawer. The rooms, the views, bars and restaurants, the spa, the gardens all contribute to the overall experience. It’s faultless. Add to that it’s right in the centre of Valletta on a hill with a short walk to the town and its various attractions. The staff are friendly and there are so many of them. Excellent service all round.

5* is definitely an overkill for that hotel if we're talking European standards. It's big, has nice gardens and small pool. The food is disgusting but that's normal in MT, the best what they have is mayonnaise - that was really nice. When you focus on details inside you will notice that it's a bit dirty and old (old neglected - not old with character). Staff is very nice and helpful, professional. Once it must have been superb place, maybe 20 years ago. I think 4* is fair.
