This is a great place to experience real Maltese cuisine, with the added twist that you don't know what the 5-course lunch, or 7-course dinner menu will consist of. The 5-course lunch menu is very reasonably priced, although we went for the premium wine pairing that added considerably to the price. Our host was very knowlegible about both the local food and wines that were served up. The lunch began with an assortment of small plates, followed by a fish soup (bream), pork pasta, rabbit stew and a selection of sweets. The service speed was just right, being not too slow or fast, giving us a chance to fully savour each course. All in all, this was a very reasonable way to try very nicely cooked local fare in a cosy, comfortable restaurant.

Lunch consisted of five courses of homemade food, very delicious—exactly what we were looking for in Malta. The only drawback was that we were all crammed into a room near the restroom, even though the entire restaurant was empty. The table was so small that we had to place our glasses and extra utensils on the neighboring table (which, luckily, was free). Being squeezed together like that in an otherwise empty restaurant didn’t feel very pleasant. It would also have been nice if the owner had offered a small complimentary gesture to treat the guests—something simple like bread and butter, a homemade liqueur, or a coffee at the end of the meal. That kind of touch makes guests feel appreciated. It’s not just about offering the option to leave a 15–20% tip at the end; it’s also about creating a warm and welcoming experience. Finally, I’d like to praise the dessert—the Maltese pudding—which was definitely the highlight of the evening, in my opinion the best dessert on the island. All in all, an excellent lunch!

Amazing experience! Went there for a solo date & loved the cozy atmosphere. The staff were super sweet & the food was delicious. I tried a bit of everything: dips, artichokes, fish, octopus, rabbit stew, pasta, potato soup & a bread pudding for dessert.

Authentic local Maltese food in a cozy restaurant. The staff were very professional and attentive and the food was tasty and plentiful. You book unaware of the menu as it changes daily dependent on what's available at the market. The dinner is a 7 course delight but the only choice you get is dessert. Don't let this put you off though, the food was delicious and we left happy and full. The added bonus is you could not bore of the menu if visiting regularly....

Stumbled across this restaurant completely by accident after a day of sightseeing. Very unassuming little restaurant. We really wanted traditional Maltese food and we certainly got it. The resturant offered a set 7 course taster menu so every course was a complete surprise. Apparently the menu changes daily depending on availability of ingredients. Each course was an absolute treat and the portions were massive for a taster menu. Everything was so full of flavour and a delight to the taste buds. Because I had never had traditional maltese food before this was genuinely a fabulous experience. The soup course was seabream and vegetable soup and the fish course was grilled seabream and grilled octopus which tasted so fresh. The best course was the rabbit linguine which was so full of flavours and the rabbit was so tender. The staff were extremely professional from the way they greeted us and sat us down to our table to the way they kept topping up our wine. The wine list was extensive and the staff offered a great deal of advice which was helpful. The dessert course was slightly different as there was a choice. I got the almond pie which was stunning and the my partner got the cheese cake which just melted in your mouth. The cheesecake came and was broken in the middle, which we didnt even notice but the staff were incredibly apologetic for that and brought us an extra dessert which was lovely but not necessary bless them. Only when we left did we realise that this restaurant was a Michelin star restaurant for 5 years running. One of the best meals I have ever had and the best value for money. Just fabulous from start to finish.
