From the outside, the museum doesn't look particularly impressive – you could easily walk past without realising what lies beneath. But once you step inside, you quickly understand the true scale of the place. Descending into the underground complex feels like stepping straight back in time into a wartime bunker and operational headquarters. The atmosphere is incredibly authentic, and you can really imagine the tension and urgency that would have filled these rooms during the war. The exhibits are very well presented, with plenty of detailed information to read, maps to study, and rooms set out as they would have been. It’s both educational and atmospheric. There is a lot to see, so make sure you give yourself a few hours to explore properly. Well worth a visit if you’re in Valletta and have any interest in history.

Have visited on a prior Malta trip many years ago and was a little put off by the €20 per adult entrance cost - if wanting to see a few sites definitely work the 8 in 1 ticket you can get on the website for €50 an adult but we only Did this as main thing we wanted to see Spent about 3 hours in the museum as a lot of test to read through accompanying the displays and videos - which I liked and did not feel like 3 hours of time passed. Informative and balanced, rich history and a pivotal role in WW2 …. Would recommend

Very interesting spot if you're into history. Walking through the underground rooms and seeing where the defense is Malta was coordinated is a great way to make history come alive. Took about 3 hours for me as I stopped and looked at everything. From the giant planning tables to the weapons uses by the soldiers, it's definitely worth a visit

Very interesting tour led by Luke to the underground tunnels. He gave us a very easy to follow and interesting overview of the history of Malta. We then viewed the original ww2 rooms where so much history was made and planning took place. Would recommend

If you are interested in history and in particular WWII history this museum is fascinating. Try to start with a tour (they have 3 per day - 10:30, 12:30 and 14:30 at the time of our visit) and then stay longer to go into detail. Our guide Luke was great, funny and informative. In addition to information about major operations in WWII (operation Husky) the museum helps you appreciate the bravery and organisation of the Maltese defenders during the war
