What a place to have a meal! We were sat outside on the terrace. The weather was perfect, the service was absolutely fantastic, the food and the execution of the dishes was absolutely spot on. If you have time for a leisurely special meal, this is the place to be. Highly recommend. I’d recommend a cocktail and then a move on to the wine list. My wife is vegetarian and she was very kindly accommodated here.
A well deserved 2 Michelin star restaurant worth every penny for a special occasion! The dinner tasting menu comprised of 12 courses - 3 of which were desserts. A very creative and varied menu with every single plate presented with incredible attention to detail and flare. The depth of flavours of food were rich and complex, complimented perfectly by the wine pairings. A very knowledgable sommelier talked us through every pairing in detail, explaining the reasoning behind the selection and providing a background of each wine. The service provided by all staff was the level expected for this fine dining experience and did not disappoint. If you are lucky enough to get a table outside you will experience the beautiful view over the harbour, a truly stunning location to match the exquisite meal and service.
We’ve eaten at Simon Rogan’s L’Enclume many times, so we weren’t sure how Ion would compare — but it absolutely exceeded expectations. Every course was beautifully balanced, inventive, and full of flavour. The service was impeccable: warm, attentive, and perfectly paced without ever feeling rushed. The setting, overlooking Valletta, was breathtaking and added so much to the experience. An exceptional meal from start to finish — thoughtful, elegant, and memorable. The highlight of our trip to Malta.
Oh my WORD, this meal was simply stunningly delicious. Deserves both Michelin stars, and maybe then some. Wine pairing is a must. The sommeliers know that they are doing. Treat yourself to dinner here.
Staff at this restaurant are fantastic They really know their food and are passionate about giving you excellent service. The finer details set this wonderful restaurant apart from others. We went to celebrate our 2st wedding anniversary and every member of staff who served us congratulated us. We were also given a bespoke message on our menu to take home. The sommelier was excellent and talked us through the range of champagnes. He was so kind and knowledgeable. All of the food is exquisite and served so delicately and professionally. Food is all locally sourced and we loved the collaborations the restaurant has with other local business and farmers. The views from the restaurant are overlooking the harbour and the whole experience was divine. Having been to Rogan and Co. Our expectations were high, and most certainly met! (And then some!) Thank you so much for making our anniversary extra special.
