We had the most wonderful experience at this Valletta gem, and it all started with Mariana at reception. From the moment we arrived, her warm smile and genuine enthusiasm made us feel instantly welcome. She went above and beyond—quickly sorting our early check-in, recommending hidden local spots for the best pastizzi and sunset views, and even helping with a last-minute ferry booking when our plans changed.Mariana's attention to detail and friendly vibe turned a simple check-in into a highlight of our trip. She's a true asset to the hotel—professional, proactive, and full of local knowledge. The rooms were spotless, the location unbeatable for exploring Valletta's charm, and the staff overall fantastic, but Mariana stole the show. We'll be back, and we'll request her specifically!
What a great little boutique hotel. We had a room with a hot tub which was perfect and what we wanted. The staff were very attentive and breakfast was good. Its definetly worth splashing out and getting one of the upper rooms with a balcony.
Intimate, quiet, small boutique hotel, perfect location, very friendly front desk staff with all information you will get. Clean room, rather hard mattress but very comfortable. Only 2 rooms have twin beds. Breakfast included with menu. Coffee and tea are available in the room. Very hot water in bathroom, watch out the radiator. We checked in smoothly at 2:30pm. If you like more sunshine or brighter room, go for rooms on the top floor or windows facing the street. Our room was no.4 on 3th floor, very dark, 2 windows facing inner walls as the photos shown. In the evening sweet are next to your beds. Occassionally I can hear other toilets flushing from upper floor or next building. Easy access by Uber or Bolt from airport at around 13€ to hotel. Choose the room accordingly to your need. We need twin beds, not many options. Many restaurants nearby, theatre venue, ferry or smal boats to the other districts are short walking distance. Hotel provides one set of 3 keys, including the hotel wooden entrance door. Or press the bell and front desk will come to open it. I find the breakfast room too dark. Breadfast selection is good, freshly made, served individually. Its restaurant was closed during our stay. We were here in January for 4 days. Overall I would like to return esp in winter being in old town of Valletta.
What a wonderful hotel, truly a family run boutique hotel with only nine rooms. We had originally booked suite 6 for three nights in February 2026 because we wanted an outdoor terrace. As it turned out, the weather was too cool and very windy to enjoy the terrace and the room was smaller than we expected. Marianna at reception was very patient and helpful in showing us two alternate available rooms. We elected to downgrade to suite 1 which was much larger and had a lovely view into the interior courtyard. Even though we had already paid in full, the hotel management was kind enough to quickly credit us for the difference in room rates. For future visits, I would recommend suite 9. The breakfast service was great.
I stayed at Casa Ellul and absolutely loved it. It’s a beautiful boutique hotel right in the heart of Valletta, with tons of character and really stylish rooms. The staff were super kind and welcoming, and the location couldn’t be better for exploring the city.
