I really enjoyed my visit. The museum has a great atmosphere and interesting contemporary art, but check the temporary exhibitions in advance! not many were open when I visited. Entry is free on Sundays, which is a nice bonus:)
We stopped here after a busy morning to check it out. The museum offers a good mix of modern and contemporary art, with thought‑provoking exhibitions that are well presented and easy to explore. The layout is clear and not overwhelming, making it a relaxed place to spend some time, even if you’re not a dedicated art expert. Overall, IVAM is a worthwhile stop in Valencia, offering something a little different from the city’s more well‑known attractions and a nice cultural balance to the trip.
Interesting. Somewhat disappointed with the scope of works available but a fabulous exhibition of Rodriguez and all his works. The second floor exhibition was extremely light on content and it's relevance could be questioned. Not sure.
Visiting the Art Modern Institute Museum of Valencia was a wonderful experience. The museum itself is beautifully designed, blending contemporary architecture with historic surroundings, which already sets the tone before you even step inside. The collection offers a great mix of modern and contemporary works, from paintings and photography to installations and sculptures. I especially enjoyed how the museum creates space for both international artists and local Valencian talent—it feels diverse, dynamic, and thought-provoking. The curation encourages you to slow down, reflect, and see familiar themes from fresh perspectives. One of the highlights for me was the way the museum integrates light and space. The galleries feel open and inviting, and you never get the sense of being rushed. It’s the kind of place where you can spend hours without noticing the time go by. If you’re in Valencia and want to explore beyond the classic sights, this museum is absolutely worth a visit. It’s not just about seeing art—it’s about experiencing how the city embraces creativity and modern culture.
We were lucky to meet Almudena when we entered the museum. She explained to us the concept behind the exhibion, the story behind the building, the best joints to eat some treats, the best places to visit next... - and I'm sure she would tell us even more if we were able to come up with more questions. It was very nice to meet kind and friendly human being and I hope all her future visits to Cracow will be pleasant!
