One of the best hostels I’ve ever been to! The hostel feels very „homey“ with a big common space and kitchen. There are many details that show that the owner know how guest use the space and what they need. Boxes for your food, oil to cook, etc. The people running the hostel are also extremely friendly and are there if you need them. Thank you so much for everything!
A brilliant 6 night stay at Cantagua hostel, I met some amazing people, it felt very inviting and homely overall and in the common area. From the first night to the end of my stay, I met people from all over, with interesting stories and we enjoyed a new years eve dinner together, especially made by the owner of the hostel, thank you so much! Really appreciate and I miss Valencia already!
I don't like giving this place a poor review because I really liked the staff and general vibe. The common area were attractive and well appointed. But the bedroom is not ventilate...at all. It was a small galley style room with bunks lining either side. At night they close the tight fitting door and small window to the common area and turn on an AC (that is not vented to the outside....poor decision). Their is no exterior window or any other way for air exchange. The door is fairly tight fitting (you can see no light at any point), and the room is disgustingly stuffy. If one person is sick in there, every is going to get it. You can sense the humidity from all the breathe. Whoever designed these room clearly did not consult an HVAC contractor or use any sort of air quality best practices. I didn't bother bringing it up to the staff because there is nothing they could do about the owners poor construction decisions.
My stay at this hostel was for 3 nights. Even though I shared rooms with other travelers and sometimes you never know what might happen, sleeping was quite pleasant. It’s a very quiet hostel with a good vibe. The reception service from Octavie was very friendly and helpful. I will definitely come back to this hostel when I return to Valencia. Salud y hasta una próxima
It's like 15 mins walking distance from the center of the city so it was easy to get there. The room was clean and there were curtains on the bunkbeds. The only problem is there was just one window in the room and it looks right at the common area, which is not outside. So, no fresh air. I spent 1 night there, so it was okay.
