Such a legendary place with loads of history. Where lots of band have made there way to fame from. This is a tavern that has a small town feel to it in the big city. You will find a pool table in the main bar that is long and narrow. There is a coat check and washrooms downstairs. The best part that we all come for is the large room at the back that holds the shows. Most of the time cover is required, but worth the price. The place maybe accessible through the front doors but the washrooms and stage are have stairs - stage area is 3/4 stairs.

The Shoe is historic and it's an icon. The front bar area is tiny, narrow and long, with a bar and a few high tables and stools. The walls are covered in aged memorabilia. There is one pool table. The back room is wider and that's where shows are held. There is seating back there but the stage is low and I personally would never sit during a show because the view would be limited. There is no food service. The bathrooms are clean with large stalls but they're small and a little rough. It was hard to decide on a star rating because the Shoe leans heavily on its history and its iconic status as a legendary music venue. If you took that away, it would be a small aging bar that's comfortable and feels safe to visit.

Great place for live performances. Nice bar area away from the live performances, great to drink and talk. No food available. Medium sized place for performances with sitting area. The seats are beaten up but I guess they are not priority. They have a stand for band merch which is really cool. The band has a room downstairs next to the washrooms to keep their stuff before the show. The band in the picture is Mute Sounds.

If you’re looking for overpriced cocktails and a crowd checking their reflections in the mirror, do yourself a favor and keep walking. But if you want a proper legendary room with history soaked into the floorboards, the Horseshoe is your church 🤘 I was there for a set a few nights back - the sound is still raw, the beer is cold, and the atmosphere is exactly what it needs to be: loud and unapologetic. It’s one of the few spots left in Toronto that hasn’t been gutted by corporate greed. It’s gritty, it’s noisy, and it feels like home. Whether you're here for the live music or just a drink at the front bar, respect the legacy. This place is the real deal.

Teddy the bartender was the very best ! And what a cool place. We came by recommendation of another awesome bartender we met at an equally awesome little bar lastnight. So glad we stopped in for a drink before leaving toronto.
