The ROM was one of the absolute best stops on our family winter break trip. From the moment you walk up and see the dramatic architectural design, you know you're in for a treat. Inside, the exhibits are beautifully presented, offering a fascinating journey through natural history and global cultures. It's incredibly family-friendly, well-paced, and offers plenty of space to explore at your own speed. It sparked so many great conversations among the kids and provided the perfect, enriching indoor escape. Highly recommended for any family itinerary!
The Royal Ontario Museum is again one of a kind place that one should definitely visit with kids and family. There are a lot of things for the kids to learn, explore, and go back into the past. The museum has beautifully organised sections inside, so one can actually move to a section of one's liking and. We enjoyed the birds section and the dinosaurs one, and again, with the city pass, I can list this as number two out of the five attractions that we visited. Everyone visiting GTA should explore this option. Even on a weekday, it was crowded, so I would advise to book your tickets in advance. Overall, we enjoyed our time at the museum, and nowhere did we feel bored or thought of taking a break. Again, a must-visit place.
We arrived later in the day, so we only had time to visit the general exhibitions. It wasn’t crowded at that time, which made the experience very enjoyable. The exhibitions are excellent and offer elements that feel different from other museums we’ve visited. For example, some artifacts are placed right in the middle of the walkways so you can view them up close, and visitors can even enter an ancient tomb that was relocated to the museum using the original stones. I especially loved the ancient glassware exhibition—it’s amazing how such delicate pieces were made so beautifully in ancient times and preserved so well over thousands of years. The museum also has a kids’ play hall where younger visitors can have fun while parents take a break from walking. The staff were very friendly as well.
Had a wonderful visit to the Royal Ontario Museum! It’s an amazing place for kids with so much information and learning through the interactive and fascinating exhibits. Our little ones really enjoyed exploring and discovering new things in every section. The museum is clean, well-organized, and a great family-friendly outing in downtown Toronto. There is also a small café inside, which is convenient for a quick break, though the menu is a bit limited. Overall, a great educational and fun experience for families with children. They do have discounts and coupons for university kids on Tuesdays. Highly recommend visiting!
