LOVE the Shahi paneer roti. The sauce is sooo good. The owner is also super sweet. I highly recommend this place.
Took a lazy Saturday stroll there with my girlfriend since I was craving butter chicken roti, and it was close. The place was unassuming and humble, but also clean, which is a good sign of quality food. A kind older man greeted us and let us pick our seats. I already knew what I wanted, obviously, but was asked what spice level I wanted, and I picked medium since we were sharing. She got the chicken tikka masala roti, medium. As soon as he brought us our water, he got to work on the food, and I'm pretty sure it was made to order because I could hear the loud sizzling of tadka. Then the aromas of spice filled the air, which made us more excited. We were the only patrons at the time since it was pre-dinner. After maybe 10 minutes, which seemed like forever since we were starving, our food came out. They were perfect wrapped parcels in freshly made roti; it almost seemed wrong to rip into it. I managed to get a shot of mine, but my girlfriend couldn't resist digging in and forgot to take a pic. I assure you it was every bit as beautiful and delicious as mine. Thought the brass cutlery was a nice touch too. The flavour was on point—everything balanced: the spice, the sweet, the tanginess, and the masala mix were perfect. I'm pretty well versed in Indian cuisine for a white guy lol, and honestly rarely order butter chicken because there's so much else out there, but occasionally I do crave it and really appreciate when its done well and this is a very solid satisfying butter chicken. The tikka was incredible and tangy how I like it too. Both rotis and a shared mango lassi. came to like $44 all in which is pretty great these days. Will definitely come back to try the rest of the menu!
Such delicious food and welcoming/warm service. The best Indian food in Toronto! Please if you are ever close by downtown Toronto, come by to support. I can tell they really care about their food and customers. If you are not, it’s worth the trip!! Mango lassi has nice mango flavour, creamy and not too sweet. The butter chicken has nice chunks of chicken. Also, the lovely chef brought out dessert on the house. Add this restaurant to your weekly dinner rotation and you won’t regret it!
Amazing everything all around, Mr. Das the gentlemen who attended me was super energetic and welcoming as well as cooks all the meals ordered FRESH in the back!! The Chicken Tikka Roti was so so good, perfect spice and honestly very filling along with a Mango Lassi…..i was ready to knock out for the day after finishing my meal hahaha 100% recommend if youre ever in the Queen and Bathurst area!!
Ever find yourself missing the comforting chaos of street food stalls, the warmth of homemade sabzi, or that perfect glass of mango lassi on a hot day? Roti Mahal brought that feeling right back — a little slice of home, right in downtown Toronto. The Mango Lassi was thick, chilled, and wonderfully creamy — just sweet enough to refresh, just tangy enough to wake the senses. The Potato Samosa had a crispy, golden shell and soft, spiced filling that made us pause between bites to just appreciate. We loved the Vegetable Pakoras — light, crunchy, and perfectly seasoned. Dipped in their chutneys, each bite felt like a festival snack back in India. The Malai Kofta with Roti was luxurious — the koftas were soft and delicately spiced, bathed in a rich, creamy gravy that melted into the soft roti.
