Terrible experience. We came for dinner, the restaurant was almost empty. It looked like our waitress was new because she couldn’t answer any questions about the menu and went to speak with a manager every time. When the food came I was disappointed- the lobster sliders were soggy as the bun wasn’t toasted, the seared tuna tasted like it was cooked the day before. The scallops were good and the oysters were very good- that’s the only reason the food got no lower score. When we got the bill, I was surprised to see mandatory 18% gratuity added. When I asked the waitress to remove it, she again went to ask the manager . He came and told me to educate myself and read the fine print before ordering. I was never aware about this, and to be honest I think it’s insane. I don’t mind paying gratuity on a good service I received but I have to pay 18%??? Only when I said I’m not paying it and if he wants he can call the police, suddenly the gratuity was removed from the bill. Just another note- if you need help paying your staff properly, either adjust the prices or pay them better. Or maybe get out of the restaurant business. I am not playing along this scam.

First time at Pearl Diver and will definitely be back. Oysters were great. We tried baked oysters for the first time and really enjoyed them. The food was great and was paired with exceptional service from our server.. He was friendly and knowleable about the menu and made it an overall great experience.

Visited recently for seafood and left feeling the experience didn’t match the price point. The oysters were Ok, but not particularly memorable. The grilled fish is served on its own with no sides yet it costs $36!. Having to order sides separately felt like an upsell rather than good menu design. Dessert unfortunately missed the mark as well and was not enjoyable neither in portion size nor in quality yet it costs $15 a piece!. For a casual, non-upscale setting, a $230 bill for two people sets a higher expectation on quality, presentation, and overall value. At that level, the experience should feel more complete and intentional. There’s potential here, but the execution and value proposition need tightening.

If you love oysters and seafood, good drinks, a casual atmosphere and friendly service, this is the place to go. I’ve been here a couple of times, mainly for oysters, and both times they were really fresh, service was excellent and drinks were good. Only reason I rate the atmosphere a 4 is because it’s really loud and tough to have a conversation especially if you’re seated beside a big group.

Thank you for accommodating our reservation due to traffic. The food, service and atmosphere made traffic worth it. I hope to go back for the $100 oysters 🦪 as it was my first time having fresh oysters 🤣 cheers
