I stayed at the Kimpton Saint George for a couple of nights, and overall it was a very pleasant stay. The location is extremely convenient, both for getting around on foot and by public transport: there are plenty of bars, restaurants, and shops just a short walk away. The front desk staff may not have been the warmest or most outgoing, but I interacted with them so little that it wasn’t really a major issue. Check-in was very quick and efficient but somewhat impersonal, but as an IHG Diamond Elite member we were pleasantly upgraded to a one-bedroom suite, which was truly comfortable and incredibly spacious. The hotel is new and well maintained, although in my opinion it lacks a bit of a luxury feel, both in the common areas and in the rooms. The large suite felt a little sparse, with somewhat of a Crate & Barrel showroom vibe. Compared to the rest of the suite, the bathroom felt slightly undersized, and the walk-in shower placed literally right next to the bathtub wasn’t the most practical setup. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room temperature was perfect, which I had actually been a little concerned about after reading other reviews. The reserved parking underneath the hotel was excellent, with convenient dedicated spaces for IHG Diamond Elite members. Complimentary morning coffee in the lobby and the Social Hour from 5 to 6 PM were nice touches, just like at other Kimpton properties. Breakfast at The Fortunate Fox was fine, though nothing particularly memorable. I didn’t like finding the minibar completely empty, and I would have appreciated at least a couple of bottles of water in the room. There was a Nespresso machine available (although the used capsules were not replaced during turndown service), but it was disappointing to find paper cups for coffee instead of proper ceramic cups, something I would expect at a Holiday Inn, not at a Kimpton. If it hadn’t been for a few details that, perhaps wrongly, I personally take for granted at hotels in this category, I probably would have given this stay a perfect score.
We had a fabulous stay at the Kimpton this past Sunday night. Absolutely loved the design of the room we were given and appreciated the little details that you don’t normally find in a hotel room (Yoga mat?! Hello! How great is that?) We were lucky enough to have a room with a record player and the records provided were the perfect vibe. We borrowed the bikes the following day and enjoyed a few hours of riding around the city. Wine and pizza were offered in the late afternoon and muffins/tea/coffee were available in the morning which added to the overall feeling of being indulged. It was a great stay and we’ll definitely be coming back.
We loved our stay at The Kimpton! We were lucky to be upgraded to a suite which was beautifully decorated and spacious. The lobby is cozy and inviting. We had complimentary wine, popcorn and small pizza slices during happy hour from 5 to 6 pm. The gym is a perfect small size with basic equipment for a quick workout during travels. Mary at the front desk was lovely!
Five stars for all (rooms, service, and location) without hesitation. Phenomenal location with big stores around, Eataly, and lots of good bars, cocktail lounges and excellent restaurants just 5-10 minutes walking distance away. There is a good coffee place just across the street. Valet service is available. The hotel has a cute lobby with a fireplace and they offer free wine and pizza which were very good every day from 5-6pm Room was super clean and decently spacious with lots of amenities. Polite staff and most importantly I want to thank Thiru at the front desk for the amazing smile he had when we arrived. As soon as we got in he welcomed us with a big smile and checked us in so quick and answered all of our questions. This is what an excellent customer service. Honestly all of the staff are top notch with their hospitality in this hotel! I will definitely come back again every time I visit Toronto! Thank you for the lovely experience.
Loved my stay here. Great location. The hotel bar is good for a casual drink. Bar Mercurio is right next store and we'll wortht he dining experience. Arrived at 5 which happens to be a social hour with free wine and pizza. Nice way to arrive at the hotel. Small but cozy lobby. Staff was super attentive and had a few thing we forgot. Quiet room and comfortable bed. Very clean. Loved the boutique style of the hotel. Parking garage is onsite and easy to locate. The area is a bit outside the downtown core. However plenty to do and see.
