We had the steak menu during lunch in addition to their special prix fixe offering. I had the 6 oz strip steak with caesars salad and duck fat fries. My guys both had the 14 oz rib eye from Alberta, I think that was dry aged, shrimp cocktail a, and caesar’s salad, and mashed potatoes. The prix fixe at lunch is a great value at $39 Canadian, whereas the ribeyes were $140 each. The steaks were cooked well with a crisp crust. The Caesars salads were delicious about overly dressed. The popovers were delicious and I’m usually not a fan.The disappointment came when the fried were delivered lukewarm, on the border to tasting cold and wimpy. The server promptly took them back for a refresh so they were hot and crispy. we received nice muffins as gifts at the end of the meal. We were too full for dessert. We were visiting from Vegas and glad we tried the #51 restaurant listed in this year’s top 100 steakhouses. Our bill was close to $500 Canadian without beverage. We enjoyed our meal.
Jacob & Co Steakhouse – One of the Best Meals We’ve Ever Had My parents and I went to Jacob & Co Steakhouse last night and we were honestly blown away. We all agreed it was one of our top favorite meals we’ve ever had. To start, we had the ceviche and the carpaccio. The ceviche was incredibly unique — it included oranges, which we had never seen before, and it added such a fresh and delicious flavor profile. The carpaccio was buttery, delicate, and practically melted in your mouth. For mains, we shared the rack of lamb and the 25-day dry-aged ribeye. Both were exceptional. The meats were unbelievably tender and full of flavor, and we loved that they were served with chimichurri, ponzu, and black salt on the side so you could customize each bite. Yes — the meal was definitely on the pricey side, but the quality of the food and the level of service made it completely worth it for a special night out if you’re willing to splurge a little. Our server, Derek, was fantastic. He recommended several menu items and took the time to explain everything in detail, including flavor profiles, which really elevated the experience. He was personable, friendly, and had us laughing throughout the night. He also worked alongside the bartender at the piano bar — “Big Country,” as we called him — who was equally warm and welcoming. Sitting at the piano bar honestly felt like an even better experience than a traditional table. Highly, highly recommend Jacob & Co. We’ll definitely be back.
Easily one of the best steaks i’ve had in Toronto so far. Prior to my visit, I heard a lot about Jacobs & Co. Steakhouse and the experience was amazing. One thing that immediately stuck out was the top level of service where every front of staff was very attentive and helpful. The bartender (Ryan) really took the time to provide his recommendations. The beef tartare was delicious and came with a generous portion. Highly recommend the 30 day house aged 14oz Ribeye. The best steak I’ve had and it was perfectly cooked. Everything from the flavouring, tenderness, and quality of the meat was a 10/10. This steakhouse is definitely worth a visit for steak lovers looking for a special, upscale experience.
Did not disappoint! Steaks were all perfect and the sides and sauces too! Not a budget type evening but for a special occasion as this was it was fantastic. Plus the staff gave a complementary prosecco for everyone and complementary dessert to help us celebrate our graduates!! Super evening!
I had a great dining experience overall, highlighted by some truly standout dishes and drinks. The Food & Drink • The Warm Seafood Platter: This was absolutely amazing and the highlight of the meal. The variety and quality were top-notch. • The Steaks: We were very impressed with the steaks; they were incredibly tender and featured a very nice char that added a perfect depth of flavor. • Burnt Paloma: To wash it all down, I tried the Burnt Paloma cocktail. It was very good and offered a unique, smoky twist on the classic drink. The only reason I’m not giving a full 5 stars is the pacing of the service. While the staff was professional, we felt a bit rushed immediately after finishing the seafood platter. It would have been nice to have a moment to breathe before the next stage of the meal. The culinary execution is fantastic. If you go, definitely get the warm seafood platter and a steak—just be prepared for a very efficient service pace!
