FOOD: very traditional, good but very standard. There's nothing really stand out or very different. The dishes are at expected level at every fine dining restaurant. After the meal I didn't have much impression about it although it was good. Overall it was good but now a wow. SERVICE: service was up to fine dining standard. VIBE: traditional fine dining vibe. To me the vibe in here is quite heavy, not really targeting younger age. However I love the attention to detail of the table set up.
I was recommended to come here with my 'friend', and we had an amazing experience with the waiter up until the end of dining. Everything was superb. I would love to come back again to try their dessert, because the waiter wanted us to try it.
A nice experience and amazing cost to value ratio with their Winterlicious offerings. We had salmon tartare, shrimp and lobster bisque, skate fish with risotto, and stake tuna. They all have balanced taste and are cooked beautifully. My favourite would be pan seared skate fish for its perfectly crispy skin and tender texture, which pairs well with their creamy yet delightful risotto and refreshing vegetable. Our desserts are poached pear and molotof; very interesting texture again but might be a little bit sweet. The restaurant is big with a few different dining rooms. Overall, i find the meal delightful and am impressed with their cooking technique.
We visited Chiado for Winterlicious lunch and ordered the $55 prix-fixe menu. Starters: The salted cod quenelles is my best bet. The texture was light and creamy inside with a crisp exterior, and the flavour immediately reminded us of the classic versions we’ve had in Macau. The lobster and shrimp bisque was rich and smooth. It leaned more toward a hearty seafood soup than an intense lobster flavour, but paired well with bread and was satisfying. Mains: The salmon was well cooked and moist, topped with a tangy plum-based sauce that added a refreshing contrast. The vegetables on the plate were a pleasant surprise. The beets and sweet potato were prepared in a way that made them almost unrecognizable, especially the yellow beetroot, which was new to us and quite enjoyable. The skate wing with risotto was unexpectedly delicate. The fish had a very fine, tender texture, almost silky, and worked nicely with the creamy risotto. A good choice for anyone curious about lesser-seen seafood. Desserts: Both the crème brûlée and the pecan tart were very traditional and on the sweeter side. Rich and indulgent, but we couldn’t finish either due to the sweetness. A small but memorable detail was the house olives served with the bread, which were among the best we’ve had in a restaurant. Worth noting that extra bread comes with an additional charge. Overall, the dishes were well executed and clearly rooted in classic Portuguese seafood cooking. The Winterlicious menu offers a good introduction, though it likely doesn’t showcase the restaurant’s full seafood range. Still, service is awesome and the place feels decent. Overall a solid experience with comforting flavors and well-prepared fish dishes.
If you're looking for a professional restaurant with fine food, here is the place. There was a starter bread and oil. Our host explained the menu. Designated place to hang the jacket. Respectful employees. We ordered Grilled goat cheese and eggplant, Soup of the day (Sea food soup), Grilled Octopus, Grilled fish of the day, St Germain Spritz, Rosemary Negroni. There was a long time waiting between starter and the main course. Food is a bit greasy but yummy. Recommended.
