Been buying from here since the bahn mi was $1, a toronto staple. I always get their cold cut large bahn mi. The bread is always fresh, great balance of sauce, cilantro, pickled veg and cold cuts. Cash only. Classic asian store, great staff. Take out only.
This is THE place to go for cheap, authentic banh mi in Toronto. Their nem nuong (grilled pork sausage) honey garlic banh mi is especially delicious and has a flavourful sauce that is spice adjustable. Service is also very fast, even when they’re busy. Been here multiple times and will certainly be back for many more. Heads up that they are cash only!
Follow @bredgyeats for more food photos! Lost count of how many times I've visited this place, and it serves as my go-to connection to memories in Vietnam. Although it doesn't compare in taste to the real thing, it's good enough to satisfy my cravings. Anything from snacks (savoury and sweet), Vietnamese sandwiches, desserts, frozen meats and deli meats is available to buy here. Nguyen Huong makes another feature. Hominy is cooked with coconut milk and topped with roasted sesame, sugar and salt. Soy-based sausage has a subtly bouncy and tender texture with a neutral taste.
All I can say is wow. I haven't seen such affordability on food in Toronto, and this place has it all. The ingredients are fresh and they blow through alot of prep and sales. Don't judge the front of the store. You'll be glad you went inside. The food is vibrant and you can't get enough of it. They have a grab and go section that is insanely cheap. At the end of your meal your left satisfied and full. I would come back again and recommend this place to anyone who wants Vietnamese food. Great place for tourists like myself.
Great value! It's $5.50 for a large sandwich and $4.50 for a small. Admittedly, the large isn't that big compared to other banh mi's and there isn't as much meat and vegetables as I would like, but for the value, it's unbeatable. The sandwiches are made fresh and directly in front of you and the workers are very nice. I got 2 large cold cut sandwiches and a little bit of sticky rice and it was delicious! Would recommend.
