I did not expect to enjoy my visit so much. Knowing nothing about Canadian art, I was pleasantly surprised and delighted by the art selection and the way everything is set up and curated. Great intro to Canadian art in my opinion, with much respect and attention paid to indigenous art history. The amount of text is good for me, not too much and not too little. I came in thinking I’d check it out and ended up spending 7 hours there going through every single room. Love the Impressionist pieces and pleasantly surprised by the big names here as well (Monet, Pissarro, Renoir etc). Very cool boat model collection, a bit unexpected but I enjoyed it thoroughly. The building is beautiful and well designed. Staff is so friendly and helpful. Love that things were set up with the community in mind. They had a live drawing event the day I came. I see that youths get free entry as well, which is a wonderful thing and really should be done everywhere. Probably one of my favorite art museums ever.

A as a lifelong Torontonian, I’ve always appreciated the architecture and grandeur of the AGO. I’ve visited from time to time and every time I do it reminds me that I want to visit more often. A common refrain of citizens of spectacular world class cities of their established attractions. This visit was for the Paul McCartney exhibit. The memories that it brought back, not just to me, but to other guests visiting was very powerful. Beautifully curated this exhibit was an homage to not just the Beatles but to an era. We also dined in the AEO restaurant, wonderful staff, lovely food and very pleasant vibe. We then went to the fabulous gift shop, which had a beautiful selection and was fun to shop. Toronto is blessed with this fabulous institution of more than just art.

as a young adult in toronto, it feels very sweet to know that the AGO doors are always open for me. it is a good refuge for sensitive roaming minds. every time i come back, there is always an art piece to fixate on. it is quiet and clean in the halls. the sections of each floor can be quite confusing, it's easy to get lost in there, and it gets very slightly frustrating. but somedays i like being lost in a safe place. i thoroughly loved the pacita abad exhibit from late 2024. as a filipina, it was monumental to see Ms. Abad be presented in toronto in full glory. thank you AGO for all the years of gentleness and dreams.

A friend and I visited using the free youth tickets, which were really nice and a great way to get youth interested in art, and we had such a phenomenal experience! The entire place was clean, well organized, and the architecture was a piece of art itself. It was also nice and quiet, and there were lots of cool interactive exhibitions that weren't just paintings I would honestly recommend just coming for the art gallery, we even bought a few cute souvenirs to bring home. Staff were especially kind and polite, and checking out the basement with all the ships is a MUST

Very well curated and displayed museum! So many things to see and my favorite is the sniff bottle collection. So unique and rare, I haven't seen anything like this before. Annual pass is only 10 dollars more than single pass which is an awesome deal.
