I wish this place was better maintained :/ It looks like in the past it was under better management. Rooms were cold (no heating) and all the showers in the entire 2nd floor were out of order. Why put us on the second floor then? We only stayed 1 night and then quickly found a nearby hotel to move to. People seemed nice there, and the location was good, close to shibuya. Be aware, you get what you pay for!

They wanted to charge me for a clean towel even after i paid for 4 nights. When we checked in, the first thing said to us was not hello, but close the door. Someones necklace and hair in the room. Showers broken. Extremely cold at night. No breakfast at all. Room too small to get dressed or stand up, or even open door easily. Charger with adaptor kept falling out of wall and no where to rest phone near it. When i emailed thinking i left it behind, they did not write back

Wise Owl Shibuya is very conveniently placed. I can bounce out of there to my needed stations with haste. The crew is superb and very welcoming. They have always made me feel at home and like I was more than just a guest. Each member of the team brings something different to the table with enthusiasm and kindness. When I return to Tokyo I make an effort to stay here purely because I enjoy the crew so much. The price is always of great value.

The service here made my trip! My flight arrived late and I missed check in. The front desk reached out to me by email to help find a solution. Thanks to their kindness, I did not have to sleep on the street! I truly felt so cared for staying here. Though the space is very cramped in the rooms, the hostel does as much as it can to keep things organized. Showers, bathrooms, and grooming areas complete with sinks and blow dryers are all separate. I never had to fight for a place to get ready. Staff acknowledge everyone whether coming or going with a smile. I utilized their storage area for the day and had no problems, and even stayed for a delicious lemon sour at their bar. I would 100% come back here just for the vibes.

Location is great being a 3/4 minute bus ride from Shibuya or 15 minute walk. Dorm rooms are on the smaller side and clutter from previous customer stays mean it gets a bit messy. Beds were fine. At night it was really really cold in the room (December stay) and so I struggled with this. One night music was blaring from karaoke until 06:30 in the morning. I assumed it was a nearby party or venue but it was actually hostel staff with like 2 customers. Earphones were not enough to cover the volume and bass so strong you could feel your room vibrate.
