Japan can be overwhelming, but the team at the Tokyo Station Hotel made us feel like we were in a safe pair of hands. The team is kind and sincere in every interaction. They even brought us to the train platform on our departure and save us the hassle of finding our way through the busiest station in Japan. 100% would recommend Beautiful hotel, wonderful staff and fantastic breakfast!
The hotel was fantastic overall. The historical traces inside tell the story of its glorious past. Ms. 宮本 at the front desk was incredibly friendly, making me feel right at home. This stay included a guided tour, with Mr. 荒木 providing a detailed explanation of the dome's design, which gave me a deeper understanding of the hotel's history. However, there were two minor issues I'd like to see addressed: firstly, the thermometer in the drawer seemed to be running out of battery, displaying an "L" and becoming unusable; secondly, there was a kitchen odor in the hallway in the morning. However, these two points didn't detract from my enjoyment of the stay or my overall liking for the hotel. If I were to visit Tokyo again, I would definitely choose to stay here. Thank you again, Ms. 宮本 and Mr. 荒木, and all the hotel staff, for making my stay unforgettable and pleasant. Thank you!
A Truly Immersive Historical Experience with Minor Quirks My stay at The Tokyo Station Hotel was largely magnificent. It is more than just a hotel; it's a living museum and a stunning piece of history. The architecture and interior design are the undisputed stars. Staying here feels like a privilege. The perfect blend of the original "Tatsuno-style" red brick facade and the modern, elegant interior—like the beautiful yet minimalist glass partitions in the ground-floor restaurant that echo the Taisho-era romance—is masterful. The commitment to the theme is everywhere: from the classical European-style soft furnishings in the room and the fresh flowers adorning the long hallways to the historical photographs on the walls. Waking up to the complimentary newspaper and enjoying the exquisite breakfast buffet (which was delicious and beautifully presented) further enriched the classic, refined experience. The service is impeccable, with staff being exceptionally attentive and professional. However, a few practical points prevent a full 5-star rating. Most notably, our room's bathroom had a slight, persistent musty smell from the pipes, which is at odds with the otherwise luxurious atmosphere. Furthermore, the hotel's restaurants close quite early, meaning we were unable to have dinner in the hotel on a night we arrived late—a significant inconvenience for a luxury property. Lastly, the hotel's unique, long, linear corridor layout, while beautiful, can be a bit disorienting and easy to get lost in. Despite these quirks, the hotel's unparalleled charm and historical significance make it a highly recommended stay. I would gladly return, hoping for a room with updated plumbing and with better planning for dinner.
The Tokyo Station Hotel is nothing short of luxurious and offers one of the best locations in the city. We took the bullet train to Tokyo Station and walked directly into the hotel. Before we even arrived, TSH’s concierge reached out ahead of our stay to ensure we had everything we needed, providing a direct line for any assistance. The hotel’s bellhops immediately encouraged us to set our luggage down, collected it on a cart, and personally escorted us to our room. Unfortunately, I don’t remember her name, but her service was exceptional and included a personal tour highlighting the hotel’s history. We had an interior-facing room, so the curtains stayed closed most of the time, though a bit of people-watching was still enjoyable. As shown in the photos, the room truly exudes luxury. We ended our trip here, as we planned to take the train directly to HND Airport. With more luggage than anticipated, the hotel staff went above and beyond to secure a taxi that could accommodate all of our bags. While it is on the pricier side, I would highly recommend this hotel for a Tokyo stay. It was the perfect place to wrap up our trip, and whether for the first nights or the final nights of a future visit, we would absolutely return.
Beautiful room and wonderful location - not in overly crowded area but easy access to all sights of Tokyo with subway, train and cabs right at your doorstep. Classic hotel architecture and historic building is beautiful but layout makes for long walks to rooms and endless hallways. Staff was very helpful, congenial and quick to respond to all emails and questions during planning process. Fitness center was frustrating. Limited hours and constant monitoring by staff made for disappointing experience. Breakfast was 10/10. Beautiful room, wonderful choices of both Japanese and Western dishes and delicious food! Overall, great place to stay for first time Tokyo visit!
