This has been the best hotel experience I have ever had. The staff is extremely nice. The vibe is absolutely Japanese. Everything is so clean. The hot spring is very relaxing. Would highly recommend this hotel. Also, try on the kimono’s in the room while going to breakfast or the hot springs, they are pretty comfortable! Planning to come here in the future if we can afford it.

We had an exceptional stay with our twin infants. The hotel’s commitment to families is unmatched—they provided cribs, high chairs, and even a bottle washer, which made our logistics seamless. The location is perfect; being steps away from the Imperial Gardens made daily walks effortless. The culinary experience was a highlight, particularly the 'Lost Flavors' Kaiseki dinner and the holistic Ryokan breakfast. Don’t miss the rooftop bath—the architecture feels like a deep light-well, offering a serene view of the sky. This is easily my first choice for accommodation in Tokyo; I wouldn't stay anywhere else.

Our stay at HOSHINOYA Tokyo was absolutely exceptional from beginning to end. Every detail of the experience felt intentional, refined, and perfectly executed. The hotel itself is stunning, a flawless blend of traditional Japanese elegance and modern luxury. The venue creates an atmosphere of serenity the moment you walk in. Every common space is beautifully designed, impeccably maintained, and incredibly peaceful. You truly feel removed from the intensity of Tokyo while still being in the heart of the city. Our room was perfection. Spacious, calming, immaculately clean, and designed with extraordinary attention to detail. The materials, lighting, layout, and subtle Japanese aesthetics created one of the most relaxing hotel environments we have ever experienced. Every element felt luxurious without ever being excessive. What truly elevates HOSHINOYA Tokyo to another level is the staff. The care, attentiveness, and genuine warmth shown by every single team member were remarkable. The hospitality felt deeply personal and sincere. Everyone anticipated our needs before we even had to ask, and they consistently made us feel welcomed, valued, and completely at ease throughout our stay. The onsen on the top floor deserves special mention, an unforgettable experience. Soaking in the hot spring baths while overlooking the Tokyo skyline was pure magic, especially after a long day exploring the city. The atmosphere was tranquil, restorative, and uniquely special. This was not simply a hotel stay; it felt like a carefully crafted experience centered around comfort, beauty, and authentic hospitality. Without question one of the finest hotels we have ever stayed in, and a place we already cannot wait to return to.

My husband and I are experienced world travelers who stay at 5-star hotels. This was our second visit to Tokyo and last time, we stayed in Ginza. The location of Hoshinoya is a bit tricky; none of the taxi drivers knew where it was. The architecture of the building is undoubtedly elegant and impressive with the 17-floor onsen with a view of a night sky with the moon hanging high up there. The staff were very friendly and professional. They deserve five stars. Here comes the biggest disappointment of the hotel that doesn’t match with its 5-star status; The bathroom faucet had a weird defect that after running warm water for a minute, the water suddenly turned cold and in order to keep it warm, I had to put up with a water stream as thin as an eyeliner pencil with literally no water pressure. I complained a couple of times to the front desk but they had no solution. Reading all the reviews without the water issue, I suspect that it was just our room problem (It really hurt my back as washing my face took good ten minutes). Poor water pressure in a bathroom happens to be one of my pet peeves and this one certainly made the worst experience. If you visit a 5-star hotel, you should not deal with this kind of problem, period. Very unfortunate…

Unbelievably great experience. From our arrival and the tea ceremony with Paul to our departure we felt seen, appreciated and valued. It starts with the staff at the door taking shoes and greeting us warmly every time we came it. It goes a long ways towards creating a space where you feel welcome and at home. The rooms have impeccable design, lighting modes to suite any mood and are comfortable and have all the amenities needed. We enjoyed tea in the sitting area of the room, beds were also comfortable. The onsen was amazing, unique and a great amenity to have in the hotel and common lounge room was also a great add making the hotel a space where we as a family could spend time comfortably. We participated in the rooftop Kenjitsu training and, I’d highly recommend that if you can fit it into the itinerary. Instructors were fun and the views are stunning. The hotel is close to Tokyo station and other parts of the subway system, making all of Tokyo very accessible Overall, our stay here was a highlight of the trip and we could definitely come back. Thanks for a great stay!
