I chose this spot because it was so cute looking turns out it’s cute but it’s sooooo dusty and nothing is clean. The bed feel like you’re sleeping on plywood. I say that as I am currently writing this review from the “bed”. Also this part of town sucks. However if you do choose to stay here your back will hurt and there is an awesome massage place 4 min away called Kizoku and it’s NOT a happy ending one it’s a genuinely good spot. You will need their help after you sleep here. Walking 30,000 steps then sleeping on wood sucks.
The reviews below are quite accurate. I booked because my family member had always wanted to try a capsule hotel, a d this one happened to be in an incredible area! While the bed itself was a tough little pad, my biggest issue was the bathroom area, where the women clearly didn't care about picking up after themselves and leaving long hair all over the floor. Do I have long hair too? Yes. Do I clean up after myself? Uhhh you betcha, especially when it's a shared space. Didn't love that not everyone respected the rules! On our final morning that we were leaving, there was a random women who was not sleeping in a pod and just out on the couch area where people leave there stuff. We thought that was really odd, and didn't love that the staff obviously didn't care. First two pictures are me and my brother, but the last picture is on the random lady who clearly didn't have a room (I made sure not to take a picture of her face for privacy, but to show the awkward situation).
I stayed there for one night last December. I had a night in Tokyo between two trips and wanted an affordable place not far from Shinjuki; in that sense, this capsule hotel met my needs. However, beyond a single night out of necessity, I can’t recommend this place, honestly, even for one night, there are undoubtedly better options... First of all, the neighborhood: the hotel is right in the middle of Kabukicho, so it’s pretty noisy, not enough to keep you from sleeping, but you can definitely hear that it’s lively outside. The hotel is on a small side street. When I stepped outside, at the first intersection on the right, I unfortunately had a bad experience with someone who accosted me in a very insistent manner. I won't go into details about the kind of service that was offered to me, but you get the idea. It’s obviously not the hotel’s fault, but keep in mind that the area is a bit sketchy. As for the welcome, it wasn’t the warmest I’ve had in Japan, but honestly, I don’t really care. The capsules, on the other hand… I’ve stayed in several capsule hotels before, and this one is clearly of lower quality; it feels very cheap, the mattress is super thin, and it was hot inside. If you’re a light sleeper, this is really a bad choice. To end on a positive note, though, the setting is really nice with the books and so on. Sure, it’s less impressive than in the photos, but it still has a good vibe. In short, I think it’s fine to stay there if, like me, you just need a cheap place to stay for one night in Shinjuku. Other than that, I don’t see any reason to stay there any longer.
This place have potential. Cool area and concept. Go for coffe & view BUT i am sorry to say this for me + my partner the hostel was a total SCAM. Great to know before: - you sleep on plywood + some uncomfterable plastic pad. You make the bed yourself with some sheets that does not fit the bedding (super mest) The podd are extremely dirty and full with dust. Lots of scrap/dirt from previous visitors. The double pod we were supposed to sleep in had a noisy fan (broken with mold)… etc… All of this endes with us leaving. There was simple no chance for any rest at all. Sorry to say…
Stayed here for our second night in Tokyo. The space is very cozy and we enjoyed perusing the many books that are available. The bathrooms were passably clean but lacked anything other than the absolute basics. The sleeping space is basically a plywood cubby with a thin “chair-cushion” like sleeping pad. We were given sheets and pillows and a duvet which were all fine but the sleeping pad itself was incredibly uncomfortable. There is also little to no ventilation in the sleeping cubbies when curtains are drawn for privacy- we struggled with the heat in January and can’t imagine what it would be like in the summer months. We enjoy the walkability of the area and access to lots of food options and attractions. Very easy to find and accessible via Metro. Would not stay again simply based on the overnight discomfort of the sleeping arrangements.
