The food was very interesting and creative. The wait staff were very engaging and would come to explain the story for each dish. I love that the restaurant is so sustainable in the way they run and manage their food. Some dishes were great but some were a little too fishy or odd for me but I did appreciate their attempt and creativity. The desserts were all great. My favourite dish was the blini with caviar. This was absolutely delicious! The ambience of the restaurant was also delightful. It's a little on the expensive side though, we spent $900 between 2 people without any alcohol. Was a nice experience but wouldn't make this a regular thing!

Saint Peter at The Grand National Hotel is undoubtedly one of the better restaurants in Sydney. The food is creative, refined, well plated, and thoughtfully executed, with a strong focus on fresh and authentic seafood. That said, I left feeling slightly conflicted. While everything was good, I did not quite feel the full “wow” factor I expected from a restaurant with such a high rating. The dishes were above average and clearly well considered, but for me, nothing felt truly memorable or emotionally exciting. It was creative and polished, but somehow lacked that extra spark. The service was good, but not exceptional or particularly tailored. The ambience was also quite normal, so I did not feel the complete dining experience I had anticipated. Perhaps my expectations were simply too high. I would not discourage anyone from trying Saint Peter, especially for a special occasion or business entertaining. It is still a great restaurant with quality food and excellent seafood. However, I would manage expectations before going. Personally, I enjoyed the meal, but I am not sure I would travel all the way just to dine there again. Overall, a very good restaurant, but not one that left a lasting impression on me.

Next level food experience! We dinned with a large group in town for a wedding and had the best time. The staff were so accommodating and were super knowledgeable about the dishes. They added to the experience in a way that made us feel like family. The food was exceptionally creative and beautifully presented. I’ve never experienced fish in so many different forms and each bite was more unique than the last. Although it was tough to pick a favorite dish I do have to share that the tuna Wellington was next level. Beef Wellington is a difficult dish in itself and yet the kitchen turned a tuna Wellington out like it was no big deal. Outside of the main courses the custard tart also took my breath away! So smooth and creamy! It was a treat from beginning to end. This meal is worth every penny as I guarantee you won’t have anything like it any where else. It was the perfect combination of fancy and cheeky making for a fun and exciting dinner.

Saint Peter was definitely one of the most unique dining experiences we’ve had in Sydney - the creativity and produce quality were undeniable, and some dishes were genuinely exceptional. The Cod consommé was delicate, refined and full of flavour, while the hand line caught coral trout was easily the standout dish of the night 🤍 The bread with cultured butter absolutely lived up to the hype too. Dessert was delicious and finished the evening beautifully, and the service throughout was warm, knowledgeable and polished without ever feeling pretentious. Not every dish hit the mark for my palate though - the salt & vinegar mackerel was far too vinegary for me, the barramundi was slightly dry, and the dry aged yellowfin tuna was probably the only real “hard no” of the night - weird texture and flavour that was not enjoyable 😅 What I really appreciated was how fearless and inventive the whole experience felt. The menu genuinely pushes boundaries and you can absolutely see why Saint Peter has the reputation it does. Even the dishes I didn’t personally enjoy were executed with confidence and precision. Overall, a fascinating and memorable dining experience with some truly brilliant moments along the way ✨

We visited to celebrate our joint 50th birthdays with a beautiful long lunch. From the moment we walked in until we left the staff were absolutely lovely, with a special shout out to the sommelier and the gentleman who looked after our table. Every dish was unique and delicious, the three course choice of two was ideal for sharing and sampling everything. Standout favourites included the Fish Soup with Coral Trout Bone Noodles, Merimbula Sapphire and Tathra Oysters, Salt and Vinegar King George Whiting, Line Caught Spotted Mackerel, and the Victorian Pistachio Vacherin. Thanks again Saint Peter Team for making our day so wonderful.
