Opera Bar is an absolute must visit when you’re exploring the Sydney Opera House. Although it’s called a “bar,” the food was surprisingly delicious and well-prepared. What truly makes this place special is the atmosphere, dining with the stunning views of the Opera House, the harbour, and the Harbour Bridge right in front of you is simply unforgettable. The ocean breeze and vibrant energy make it a perfect Sydney experience. The cocktails were excellent, and the dark beer was smooth and refreshing. If you’re visiting Sydney, I highly recommend stopping by Opera Bar for a drink or a meal while taking in one of the best views in the city.

Nice experience here today! We are on the HAL Grand World Voyage and several people recommended we stopped here before we went to the opera. Food was great (see the pics) and drinks were too. Ordering was a little convoluted for us older patrons but we figured it out. Certainly worth stopping here!

Everyone already knows how beautiful the atmosphere is here — it’s one of the main reasons people come. As for the food, the taste is average but enjoyable, and overall it’s good value for money. The prices are actually quite reasonable considering the location and the setting. A Margherita pizza costs about $23, while beers and cocktails start from around $19. If you come around sunset, the view is absolutely stunning and the ambiance becomes even more special with live music playing in the background. It’s a lovely place to relax, have a drink, and soak in the vibe. However, be prepared to wait a bit for a table because it’s always busy and seating is quite limited. One issue the restaurant could improve is table management — sometimes there are only two guests sitting at a large table, which makes it harder for others to find seats. Despite that, the overall experience is still pleasant. It’s the kind of place you visit more for the atmosphere and views rather than just the food. Perfect for a casual evening out or drinks with friends, especially if you come early to catch the sunset.

I love coming here for a quick coffee or a drink, it’s the perfect place to pause for a moment with the Opera House on one side and the Harbour Bridge on the other. The views are unbeatable and it’s such a classic Sydney spot to just take a breath. It can get very busy and quite noisy. Not the place for a quiet conversation, but definitely worth it for the iconic setting.

Opera Bar is simply an amazing place with one of the best views in the world — right onto the Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge. You can enjoy great food, a nice drink, and surprisingly not-so-crazy prices (which feels like a small miracle in Sydney 😄). And then — just a few steps away — you’re ready for a performance in the most beautiful theatre in the world. But the real highlight? Sitting there, soaking in the view… and feeling like a queen. Highly recommended!
