Upon checking in, I noticed several issues in the bathroom: the presence of drain flies, visible hair in the drain. The curtain by the window and bed also had a visible food stain. The furniture was also quite dated with chips and marks everywhere. More seriously, on the second evening of my stay, I returned to my room to find a cockroach on my bed. I contacted reception immediately, and a staff member attended and removed it. I then requested a room change, as I'm allergic to cockroaches. The request that was unfortunately denied. The sheets were changed by the staff, which I appreciated, but the overall situation was distressing and affected my stay considerably. At checkout the next morning, I was disappointed to find that none of the front desk staff had been made aware of the pest incident. I had to personally request a deep clean of the room. For a pest issue of this nature not to be flagged internally is a serious hygiene concern. I booked this hotel as there were so many good reviews, but I'm left severely disappointed.
Great location. Tiny room..which is OK, because i dont want a "wellness" centre or swimming pool. But no desk in the room to do work. Prices now >$500 a night is nudging the mega-hotel-chain rates. So in terms of value for money...very poor. Pay $50 more and stay at the Hilton
We had a great stay at Little National. The location is absolutely unbeatable for getting around Sydney—right above the train station. The Room: Yes, the rooms are compact (very efficient!), but they are super clean and neat. Honestly, you don't need a huge room because the shared spaces are so good. My favourite part: The rooftop lounge. There is a free coffee machine up there that is a total game-changer. I’m pretty sure it’s the corporate edition Nespresso (not the standard retail pods) because the coffee tastes significantly better than the home version. It was such a nice touch to grab a premium coffee and relax with the view. Highly recommend for a smart, stylish city stay! 🏙️
Great place to stay. The rooms are small but well put together. Pod machine, and teas were in the room to use or, as we did, you can go to rooftop lounge and grab a complimentary coffee up there. I also utilised the work space, that was a nice comfortable spot to get a few things done. Location is the best, especially if you arrive via train from the airport.
My wife booked the hotel direct not using a booking site as prices varied dramatically. We were very impressed with our room, the staff and the jewel in the crown was the rooftop bar where you could have free coffee, snacks and a complimentary cocktail on arrival. We definitely recommending the The Little National to friends.
