Our visit was truly exceptional. Having a family member serving in the Navy made the experience even more meaningful and worthwhile. As first-time visitors, we were blessed with a very special welcome, which made the day even more memorable. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the HMAS Vampire and the submarine, as well as viewing the First Lady sailing boat, Viking Explorer, and the rest of the museum exhibits. There was so much history and fascinating information to discover throughout the site. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and we highly recommend a visit to anyone interested in Australia’s maritime history.

We recently visited this museum with the kids and enjoyed our tour. The tours of the HMAS Vampire Navy Destroyer and HMAS Onslow submarine were quite impressive and educational for both kids and adults. It was nice to also see a bit of PNG naval history in the museum, a big Sepik dug out canoe, lakatoi and Milne Bay canoe also. Would recommend taking the kids and purchasing tickets online in advance.

Definitely worth the visit. Lots to see and do. I personally enjoyed the submarine and destroyer excursions. Give yourself 2-3hrs to cover most of the exhibits. Longer if you are a complete station reader and info gatherer.

A visit to the Australian Museum (located on the corner of William and College Street, right on the border of the CBD and Darlinghurst) is a must do Sydney experience for all visitors and locals alike. It’s located right across from Hyde Park, so it’s the perfect starting point for a day out. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, this is easily one of the best cultural spots in Sydney. While the museum is essentially in Darlinghurst/CBD, most locals just call it the "Australian Museum" (not to be confused with the National Museum in Canberra!). Since its massive renovation, the space feels bright, modern, and easy to navigate, all while keeping that beautiful heritage charm. The exhibitions focused on First Nations histories and cultures are powerful and deeply moving. The Garrigarrang: Sea Country and Talking Blak to History galleries provide such important, authentic perspectives that really enrich your understanding of Australia. Enjoy!

same price as Bridge Museum but there's so much to explore here. just the vessels walkthrough takes hours. the guides are also very friendly and informative. great place. but the place closes early so be sure to start early.
