A museum of modern and contemporary art, featuring paintings, installations, photography, and video works from the 20th century to the present day. The quality of the collection is outstanding, and the minimalist Nordic design of the exhibition spaces creates a pleasant atmosphere for viewing the artworks. Note: Free admission is offered every Friday from 18:00 to 20:00. ※ Included in the Go City Pass.
Visited the lovely museum Friday afternoon (free entrance) & had a great time browsing through the different collections and rooms. There weren't too many people at the same time as us and it was really relaxing to soak all the art up. We visited the adorable gift shop as well. The staff was really nice and the atmosphere in general was good. You can always drop by ArkDes too since they're connected, or take a walk around the two small islands because if the weather is nice – you'll have a great time before/after your museum visit. PS. Go for a walk after your visit and enjoy the prettiest sunset ever just around the corner on the harbour. 🌇 Attached the last picture just because I'm still in awe.
I’m not a big fan of modern art, but this museum is worth visiting on free Friday admission, especially with a guided tour. Sometimes trying something you don’t usually like can feel refreshing. The museum also has a fancy restaurant with a lovely river view
A must in Stockholm. The last time I was there was to see Marakatt-Labba's art works. The collection they displayed was amazing. Since some pieces belong to private collectors it felt so unique. Maybe we will never see some of these items in the future. ML's art on itself is so spectacular, the materials she use and the stories and messages she conveys. All make me feel like giving a huge hug to her and the Sami culture. ❤️🤗
Museum is art exhibition with lot of photo and mini theatre inside, mostly for someone who loves art. Free to sit and draw on your own and listen to some music It's free on Friday evenings
