This is a really nice hotel that is one mattress away from being a great boutique hotel (bear with me here). The pros: The location and price (for the location) is quite good. Main train station and main subway line is about a ten minute walk or a short Uber if you have a lot of luggage. The room is typical European hotel—small and sparse. If you travel a lot in Europe, you’ll be familiar with it. Not a lot of amenities; again, typical for a European hotel. Staff was VERY friendly; the person working the front desk helped us get a room quickly after arriving early from a trans-Atlantic flight. Breakfast is nice, and is served on the 13th floor of the building’s annex. The walk takes all of 15 seconds, and you’re rewarded with a great view of Stockholm. The shower was a “large rain shower” type, and the water was hot and pressure was great. It’s attached to a mall with a variety of mall-like eating establishments; I’d recommend going to the pedestrian area just a block away. The con: Strawberry really needs to invest in some decent mattresses. The bed is essentially box springs with what is best described as a prison mattress on top. Every morning I’d wake up sore as opposed to rested. Be warned, this isn’t the typical European “firm mattress”; it’s a circle of Dante’s hell. Two stars for comfort, five for staff, 4.5 for location, so an overall four.

We had a wonderful staycation at Hobo Hotel Stockholm. One of the reception staff members who welcomed us in the morning was genuinely friendly and very helpful, as were the rest of the team, which made us feel welcome right away. The room was cozy and thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed. The duvet felt incredibly crisp, and the bed was comfortable. I’m usually sensitive to the strong chlorine smell that hotel bedding sometimes has, but I didn’t notice that at all here, which I really appreciated. Breakfast was excellent, with a great variety and a lovely touch of Asian-style options as well, such as donburi with miso soup. Enjoying breakfast on the top floor with the amazing view made the experience even more special. We didn’t use the laundry facilities, but we thought it was a fantastic bonus that they’re available free of charge. The bar is also worth mentioning :) the handmade pizzas were delicious. The location needs no introduction, as it’s right in the heart of the city. I highly recommend Hobo Hotel for any occasion and will definitely be coming back. P.s one minor downside was that the remote control was completely out of battery, we couldnt turn on TV ..we were also lazy to go down to ask…😌

I really wanted to like this hotel because how it was presented on their website. But I was disappointed. The room itself was nice. The bed is comfy and the pillows are okay. But what is really missing was the wall that should’ve been full of stuff. Like on their website. Nothing was there. It was just a boring hotel wall without art or anything. Also there is no central light switch. When you go to bed you have to turn off each light and vice versa. Also there is no storage for your clothes? I had to live out my suitcase. The bathroom size is okay while the shower itself was big. The problem there was that the glass wall, which divides the shower from the rest of the bathroom, was open at the bottom. That means when you shower, you flood the whole bathroom. And you have a nice rain shower head, which is super uncomfortable to use, as 75% is clogged. And when you wash your hands, the form of the soap will eat the whole sink. To get to the breakfast at TAK, you have to go to the ground floor and walk through the hotel lobby to take another elevator up, thats worth it, as the breakfast buffet is super good. And you get some real nice views overseeing Stockholm. Location is okay, but if you want to start your day further away, you have to walk quite a bit to the subway.

Considering booking in Stockholm? Stop looking and stay here. The breakfast alone is worth it. I usually don’t add breakfast to my bookings or avoid rates that include breakfast as I like to get out and try local places for a light breakfast or just grab a coffee and croissant and go. But, the HoBo breakfast is phenomenal. A zen like setting and expansive options especially if you are a vegetarian, vegan or prefer gluten free. And 100% of the staff is genuinely friendly; professional yet personal.

Amazing stay at Hobo Hotel Helsinki! Stylish, cool rooms, a fantastic central location within easy walking distance of the station, and genuinely friendly staff. The food in the bar was excellent, and the breakfast was just as good. Would absolutely stay here again.
