Went here on one of my first days in Croatia. First off, the decor is very traditional which I liked. I ordered a risotto which was ok. Flavours were good but the texture was slightly off for me (a bit bitty) just under the texture of how it should be imo. I also ordered the Pašticada. Sauce, great flavour. Gnocchi wasn't too bad. Meat was definitely overcooked/dry. What I will say is, the gentleman who was the waiter gets my utmost respect. One man service as I think someone was off sick. It was a full restaurant and was handling everything well by himself. Hopefully my criticism can be constructive.

This restaurant is 100% the highlight of our trip, we have been here every night for dinner (5 times in a row) and it never disappoints. It is my first time trying Croatian food and it is nothing like the food and other cuisines I have had in London, the waiter is also very nice and was kind enough to explain to us the source of the fishes and the dishes. The fishes were all caught near the shore and very fresh. Incredible flavours - I highly recommend the fish stew, it is out of this world. He also gave us complimentary drinks on our last night here. Overall 10/10 experience!!

We regret coming to eat on Easter Monday. There were very few dining options in Split during the holiday, and we came following the good reviews on Google. The starters were good and we enjoyed both the fish soup and black pasta. However, things took an unexpected downturn with the main dishes. We had the gregada and brodertto, only to find midway that some pieces of fish in the stew were off with an ammonia smell, which we knew by common sense (which was confirmed by online sources) that this simply meant the fish wasn’t fresh. Worse still, as we cracked open the crab, we found it black and stinky with a strong sour smell, which again simply meant it’s spoiled. Being very worried of getting food poisoning, we aborted the meal, leaving almost half the portion. When we informed the waiter about the spoiled seafood, all he said was that (1) the fish and crab came in fresh and alive that morning, (2) maybe the crab itself ate something unclean (LOL, but in another way admitting that the crab was spoiled), (3) other tables ordered the same stew and got no problem with it (when we left we saw another table not touching the crab at all), and (4) we should not put this on Google review. But it’s Easter Monday, and having also stayed in Split on Easter Sunday, we knew well that the fish market didn’t open at all on both days. The excuses given by the waiter were ridiculous and failed to address our concerns for food safety. He then offered to treat us free dessert or offered a discount to our meal. Now that we’ve lost confidence in this restaurant, we dared not to have further food from it. He eventually applied a 10% discount to our bill, an amount which could barely count as an adequate compensation. It’s not that we couldn’t afford the meal in its full price, but the way he handled our complaints and the solution offered were very disappointing. With hindsight, we probably only had ourselves to blame for going for seafood during the holiday when residents of the town were enjoying their time off too. Nevertheless, if there’s really difficulty in securing fresh seafood for customers, the restaurant could have simply cancelled those items from the menu or taken their time off as well, instead of subjecting customers to the risk of food poisoning and gambling with its own reputation.

Delicious food, good music, and very welcoming staff. I had saved this place earlier while searching for local restaurants, and it turned out to be the only one that truly lived up to the great reviews. The only surprise was the lemonade - it was as sour as my life - but then we learned that this is just the local style, and you can add sugar yourself. I simply didn’t know that. The fish we ordered was fresh and full of flavor, the atmosphere was perfect for a romantic evening, and the waitress paid attention to my allergy restrictions, which I really appreciated. I really hope to come back someday and try out some lunch options.

Stinky Seafood!! I recently had dinner at this seafood restaurant, and unfortunately, it was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. The seafood served was clearly not fresh. The crab was completely inedible — the crab roe had turned watery and green🤮, and the lungs were black, showing obvious signs of spoilage. The crab also had a very strong, unpleasant smell, and even after washing my hands twice, the odour still lingered. The grouper in the fish soup was greyish‑green with a strange smell that made it impossible to enjoy. What made the experience worse was the waiter’s attitude. When we raised our concern, he defensively said that other diners had ordered the same dishes and didn’t complain, implying that we were being difficult customers. However, we noticed that other tables who ordered the same crab also didn’t eat it — they simply put it aside in the waste bowl. Later, the waiter admitted that the crab was indeed spoiled. He offered a 10% discount and even asked us not to post the crab photos on Google Maps. Overall, I find it unacceptable for a restaurant serving seafood to have such poor quality control and such a dismissive response to legitimate food safety issues. I would strongly advise avoiding this place until they seriously improve the freshness of their ingredients and their customer service.
