30min queue on Monday for a $5.80 plate of pork chop, pork belly and cabbage. 30cent surcharge for each plate that's why I only got 1 plate. Pro Pork chop is more tender than average. Tasty as well. Pork belly was flavorful. Fats melt. Rice was just rice when wet with curry, but could have gone harder. Average Fat to meat ratio of pork. Sooo little fat such a skinny pig they slaughtered... Meat could have been more tender as well Curry nothing to wow. Cabbage. Seen better. I like it but not worth the queue. Glorified cai png.
Overall rating is 8/10. One of the famous curry rice in Singapore. They have quite a wide range of dishes. The curry and braised pork gravy quite well balanced savory taste. The white cabbage dish also quite nice. Please be prepared to wait for 20-30 mins during lunch time …
24/11/25, after doing fish soup many times today decided to try Loo’s Curry and it was very good. Order pork chop, chicken curry with curry vegetables @ 6.80. Pork chop was very crispy and moist, very good. Overall highly recommend.
Never could understand what is the fascination with this place. Not the food, service or ambience. The curry is a strange taste that is not Indian, Chinese or Malay. But what disappoint me is the lack of care in clearing off food debris - see photo. It is like they didn’t bother as it is food meant for the masses. Just cut the pork chop, slapped on the curry plus chicken and duh. ! $8.80. Not cheap for the masses and certainly not uniquely tasty
One of my favourite Hainanese Curry Rice. It used to be at the corner coffeeshop in Seng Poh Road, but they moved here a few years ago. One of the best braised pork (Kong Bak). Great cabbage. Tasty curry. The Sea Prawns are also huge and tasty. Also highly recommended is the Sotong. Everything looks sloppy. But thats they way Hainanese Curry Rice should be served.
