The Chilli Crab was excellent, and the White Pepper Crab was equally impressive which the flavour came through nicely with every bite of the crab meat. The Coffee Pork Ribs weren’t quite to our taste, but the crabs were definitely the highlight of the meal. As for the fixed crab pricing, I assume the restaurant standardises the weight of each crab, making ordering simpler for both customers and staff. After reading some reviews, I expected service to be hit-or-miss, but our experience was surprisingly pleasant. The staff were friendly, attentive, and even humorous. Service experiences may vary, but I believe a little kindness goes both ways.

Honestly, I have never tried Singapore chili crab despite visiting Singapore many times. I finally had the chance, but we opted for the crab meat version instead of the whole crab because we were too lazy to pick the meat from the shell. Perhaps that was the wrong choice because the chili crab sauce tasted average to me. I would go for the whole crab next time if I revisit. The curry fish head was good, although the consistency reminded me more of soup curry noodles rather than the richer, thicker curry I would expect from a claypot version. The fried kuey tiao with raw egg yolk was surprisingly full of wok hei and very delicious, but it was not as nice once it cooled down. The fried chicken wing was a bit hard and crunchy instead of light and crispy, though the flavour was good. The fried squid was absolutely delicious. Service was friendly and attentive.

[BUKIT MERAH, SINGAPORE] I thought @kengengkee is for tourists, little did I know that my colleagues were raving about their food and we made an impromptu trip over to eat and we NEVER LOOKED BACK. The Moonlight Hor Fun 🍜 ($23.80 for L) is a must get. The noodles were silky smooth, even silkier due to the raw egg, and the wok hei in this is INTENSE. Very flavourful, this was really easy to eat and slurp down! The Coffee Pork Ribs 🐷 ($29.80 for M) is also another must get. Light and crispy on the outside, and soft and tender within, it had the right mix of sweet and savoury flavours, with a fragrant coffee aftertaste. I think this might be the best rendition I've had. An alternative protein can be the Marmite Chicken 🐔 ($16.80 for S), as it was delicious too with its sweet savoury mix! This was tender and crispy on the outside too. The Hotplate Beancurd 🍳 ($16.80 for S) and 3 Egg Spinach 🥬 ($23.80 for M) were great as well, thought nothing too much to shout out about. Despite it being slightly pricey, all dishes were hits and we were a team of 5 that was very well fed. It was about $22.50 per pax, not too bad! Can't wait to be back to try other dishes 😍

What impressed me most about this restaurant during my recent trip was that all the signature dishes they recommended were delicious, easy to eat, and could satisfy even the pickiest diners. The chili crab was the heart and soul of the meal, especially when served with perfectly fried dumplings. The stir-fried beef pho was delicious and fragrant with a smoky aroma. The salted egg yolk crab was a little salty, but that's okay if you eat it with rice... If I have the chance, I will definitely come back to try more dishes. The staff were friendly and enthusiastic!!!

One of the OG tze char stalls in Singapore, well known for their seafood dishes and almost always packed with groups during the weekends. I’d recommend making a reservation in advance to ensure that you have seats when you arrive. Aside from that, the prices are slightly higher than regular tze char places but the quality of the dishes justifies the price. It is mostly outdoor seating with a small room that is airconditioned but doesn’t seem to be open. Service was warm and prompt but I thought could be slightly more attentive and proactive. Overall a good experience.
