Geylang Lorong 9 Frog Porridge still delivers flavourful and well-seasoned frog porridge, but the portion size felt rather small compared to similar places. The fried oyster omelette was generously packed with eggs, which probably explains the $11 price tag. Taste-wise, it was satisfying, though noticeably too oily. I remember the food tasting much better in the past. Unfortunately, the overall standard seems to have dropped quite significantly over the years. Still decent, but no longer as memorable as it used to be.

This is a must-visit every time I’m in Singapore. The frog meat is always fresh, tender, and perfectly cooked, with no gamey taste at all. The sauce is rich and aromatic, pairing beautifully with the smooth, comforting porridge. I personally prefer this place over Eminent, the flavors here are more balanced and satisfying. Simple, local setting, but consistently great food. I never skip this spot when visiting Singapore.

I really love the frog porridge here. The sauce for the frog dish is very flavourful, and it pairs perfectly with the plain porridge. The spicy version is actually nicer, but it can get a little too spicy for me. The first few mouthfuls were great, then the spice slowly kicks in and becomes harder for me to handle. The sauce is also slightly on the salty side, but that’s where the porridge comes in, helping to balance and mellow down the saltiness, which works really well together. Overall, it’s a great place for frog porridge, and definitely worth visiting if you enjoy this dish.

This place was really close to where I stayed during my trip, so I decided to stop by and try it right away. The porridge was quite thick and surprisingly filling, even though it looked simple at first. The frog meat was tender, and the sauce was rich and flavorful, which paired really well with the plain porridge. It created a nice balance of taste, not too overwhelming but still satisfying. I also ordered a drink, some kind of salted plum juice, but honestly, it was just average to me and nothing too memorable. Since I don’t usually eat a lot, even the small portion was too much for me to finish in one sitting. I ended up saving the rest and had it for breakfast the next day, which was still pretty good. The total cost was around SGD 16.50 per person, which I think is reasonable for the portion size and overall experience. The portion you see in the photo is for one person, and it’s quite generous, at least from my perspective. One funny thing I noticed was that they even had Vietnamese on the menu, which made the whole experience feel a bit more familiar and amusing.

The porridge here is very tasty and really suits my taste. It is cooked well, smooth, and comforting to eat. The frog meat is fresh and served in a generous portion, which makes the dish even more satisfying and worth it. One thing to note is that the place can get quite crowded, so it is better to come early to avoid long queues. Arriving early also helps you enjoy your meal more comfortably without waiting too long. The shop can feel a bit warm inside, especially during busy hours. Because of that, it may be a good idea to bring a small portable fan to stay more comfortable while eating. Even though it is a bit hot, the food still makes the experience enjoyable. Overall, the taste of the porridge and frog is very good, and the portion size is generous. Despite the heat and occasional crowd, it is still a place worth visiting for a satisfying meal.
