Seafood and Newton Food Centre are almost synonymous with each other. With many stalls to choose from, Alliance Seafood is recognised by its blue-t-shirt wearing team, dishing out plate after plate of steaming Singapore chili crab and cereal prawns amongst other dishes. Best for sharing, the dishes (rice, vegetables, seashells, fish, crustacean, poultry) come in different sizes and prices depending on your group size or the portion you want. The cereal prawns use chunky, juicy prawns that are coated with addictive fried cereal bits that leave you scooping up every last flake, enhanced by the aroma of curry leaves and a tangy sweet chili sauce dip. It is no wonder it is a hit with locals and foreigners.
Alliance Seafood's chilli crab lives up to its expectations. The crab was incredibly fresh and meaty, coated in arich and thick suace. The gravy was damn good. It's no surprise that this stall is michelin-rated. The quality, flavour and execution clearly reflects that level of recognition. A must-try for anyone visiting newton hawker centre.
Avoid ordering cockles from this stall. All very small pieces and cost $15 for a little portion. Taste of the cockles also seem to be unfresh. How did they get Michelin Star, wondering! Will never patronise this stall again. Feel cheated.
I had a really great experience at Alliance Seafood at Newton Hawker Centre. The food was fresh, well-cooked, and full of flavour — you can really tell they take pride in what they serve. Definitely a spot I’d come back to and recommend to others.
We were introduced to this place by Inside Singapore(Korean Singapore Trip Information Community). This place gave me a really great experience. The food was delicious and the staff was friendly. Chili crab and fried rice are the best combination. The sauce is the best It was nice to be able to buy and eat other foods nearby.
